Is the only way to use the other 2 screens while playing in the other (3 monitors case), is to use window mode?

Post by noxvenator »

I'm new to this, and sometimes instead of fixing those UIs I just stick to 1 screen. But I'm forced to use window mode if I want to eventually use anything else
at the same time. (because the other screens would turn black/no signal when I'm playing at 1 monitor resolution and fullscreen).
Is there a way of avoiding this?

ps: I know the question might not make any sense because It would be window mode after all wouldn't it?

You can only fullscreen to

You can only fullscreen a game to the whole display area, if your display area is all 3 monitors, then it'll fullscreen to all 3. So to fullscreen a game to one you need to spilt the display area into 3 by using extended desktops.

^Yep even if you make all 3

^Yep :D

even if you make all 3 monitors seperate resolutions and not spanned a game will fullscreen on the primary, you will still "see" windows on the other panels but you will not be able to interect with them. if you alt-tab you can interact with them, but that will minimize the game, and you will have to alt-tab back to get back into it.

you will notice somtimes hardcore peeps will actually add a Fourth monitor that is driven by a laptop or second system, just so they can keep things like that up
