screen flickers running game in fullscreen mode 5040 59Hz

Post by Agent999 »

Hello,

Basically whenever I try to run any games in fullscreen mode at 5040 x 1050 @ 59Hz , it flickers constantly that it is unplayable. 5040 x 1050 @ 59Hz works fine on my desktop.

Flickering is gone if I lower my resolution to 4320x900 @ 60Hz or lower, which sucks because I really want to run games in fullscreen at my monitor's native resolution.

I do have the latest catalyst drivers (10.6)

Here are my specs:
Sapphire ATI HD 3870x2
Intel C2D E8400 at 4GHz
Samsung 226BW x3 22"
Matrox TH2GO
Windows 7 Ultimate
Corsair Dominator DDR2 8gb 1066Mhz

Please help, thanks.

I could be mistaken, but I was pretty sure TH2Go users stuck to 57Hz for this exact reason. There's a whole thread about monitors that run at 57Hz.

Hmmm... is it any game? Because the game could be trying to override the refresh rate and put 60 Hz over the line. I personally had no problems running things in 59Hz

+1, is it in all games or specific titles ?
I think I had similar issues in a couple games, can't remember now...

@BRPunk: this is old, TH2G now runs at 59.xxx Hz at 5040x1050 ;)
