Battlefield 3 Singleplayer FOV hack (solution created! download inside)

Post by fuc847 »

there seems to be alot of demand for this and hopefully someone here is able to make a hack that allows us to edit the FOV for singleplayer. The FOV in-game option only changes MP not SP.

so i took the liberty to hack

Post by fuc847 »

so i took the liberty to hack this myself. it works well except when you zoom in or change the fov, it resets to the original one.. so i need a hackers help to "add X to default fov" instead of changing the whole figure.

Default FOV (55)

Hacked to FOV 90

my address for the fov data is: FFF600A0

and heres the ASM code for what writes to that address:
010B7C81 - 66 0FD6 00 - movq [eax],xmm0
EAX=FFF600A0

not really sure what to do after this to do what i want (add X to default fov address number eg. 30), is it possible to say do "010B7C81 - 66 0FD6 00 - movq [eax+30],xmm0 ? this is just my simple mind thinking :)

Do you think we could use Cheat Engine and freeze the FOV value as 90 (or whatever you want) using the address youve pointed ? Just an idea, im not a hacker.

yes thats what i've done and that address is also static and never changes.

anyone with cheatengine can use that address to change the fov to whatever they want. as mentioned, whenever u change fov (zoom) , u'll reset tho (or be frozen at the value u set).

o well, better at 90 fov than nothing,.

well, thanks to some really nice people, here's the easy hack compiled into exe. it even fixes the zooming thing, the changes the relative so your zooms and all cutscenes will be nicely at a much wider angle.

Is this adjustable? 90

Is this adjustable? 90 VertFOV is too much for me on single screen, 75 or so would be nice though.

retail 1.0 , it only works

Post by fuc847 »

retail 1.0 , it only works after you've zoomed in once, then zoom back out and it should be wider.

enable (you'll see its red in the trainer) only one , not both.

tetsuo, i made option for 80 and 90, hopefully 80 works for u

Post by LoboFH »

Thank you very much, this doesn't fix the horrendous campaign but at least we can play it with a reasonable FoV. Could you code also a FoV 75?

EDIT: the fix is bugged inside vehicles when zoomed, the tank for sure, I believe in the airplane bombing too.

This fix is not working for me with the current version of the game. My understanding is you start the program, then hit num7 or num9 while playing, then zoom. Am I doing something wrong?

I've already been doing that.

Post by Nimbulan »

I've already been doing that. I tried letting it zoom in fully, hitting the hotkey while zoomed in, holding it down. Nothing works.

Well it seems that with the latest patch, you are no longer able to use the hack

Its a shame because the game looks amazing and is actually fun with it. If anyone has another workaround, please let me know or reply. Thanks

I do not own this game so I can't make a fix for it. Unfortunately I'm against the use of Origin so I may never own this game.
