monitor question

Post by ib2ez2 »

Thinking of going 3 monitors for eyefinity... currently have 1 u2410 and can get 2 2408wfp from a buddy of mine. Would these work well together for gaming, since on is ips and 2 are pva? Will there be a noticeable difference on onscreen quality? Or should I just save up for 2 more u2410 and get all the same monitors.

Thanks

Well it depends on how much money you want to spend. Yes, having all the same monitors is Ideal, but if you're on tight rope for cash, I'd just go with the ones you can get from your friend.

I use ol' TN displays for my sides and IPS for my center. I'm pretty happy with it. The only thign that will bug you is gettign them color-matched. And match the lag, too.

Non-TNs allow you to go 3x1 portrait, which is better for some games and office work.

The monitors you listed would work well together. Hopefully you can also get bezel compensation to work with the GPU scaling trick.

That's really the thing that bugs me most of my current setup.
