Well, NVidia's site says April (http://www.nvidia.com/object/3DV_System_Requirements_Surround_Technology.html), but that's just for the 470/480. As for the GTX 200 series driver, they said "Mid-may or when it's ready." (http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?s=&showtopic=164324&view=findpost&p=1038494)

EDIT: Added link to post about 200 series driver so it would be in the same post in this thread. Sorry I didn't do this earlier, I didn't have time.

"Support for NVIDIA 3D Vision Surround Technology on GeForce 400/200 Series GPUs requires NVIDIA Driver Release 256* or higher. (*Scheduled for April 2010)"

Where did you see mid-May?

New drivers for the Geforce GTX 480/470 were made available last week. GTX 200 series 3D Vision Surround should be available around May or when it is finished.

Note the "or when it is finished. Its not certain yet the dates, but I interpete it as "if everything goes as planned", it will be available around May.

the cards are available at my nearby pc store but im not buying any until i know how it does at 5040x1050. single monitor it is better then the 5870 but how will it do in multi monitors?... and we are getting closer to may, so the april thing might be another fermi delay, delay, delay.. or sorry the record was skipping lol

I look forward to testing it out on my 280GTX SLI system.

I've been running a TH2G0 for a few years now.... but look forward to doing 4800x1200 which is the native res of my monitors.

It just sucks you will have to run 2 cards in SLI for their 3 monitor solution :-(

and why do u want to use only one card? not for playing games i hope cause then u are screwed.
playing on two cards will still be one the limit of how mutch fps required to be playable.

ATI seems to be doing fine with just one card and eyefinity.

Just one example, this person doesn't look "screwed" to me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xl4sl04hwe8

he is playing need for speed shift if you didnt notice. Not the most demanding game, and dont know if he is playing at max settings. But your right about it is alittle wierd that nvidia havent made any card compatible with 3 monitors.
Here you have a test on how one 5870 can do eyefinity
http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/wiki/ATI_Radeon_5870_Eyefinity6_-_Featured_Review_-_Page_13
even at 4800x900 it will have problems with some games trying to hit 60fps.. and if you are going to play that in 3D it will take the double amount of fps to make it playable too.. so not many games will come close to 60 fps on one card.

I doubt there'll be anything new before Computex (June) :(
I'm still waiting for a 480 pre-ordered on 3/27... then I'll have to wait for the Surround driver to see if it's worth keeping my 285 SLI or not... While what I *really* wish for is a GeForce with DisplayPort output to make the jump to TH2G DP.
I'm depressed.

The new 470's with non-reference cooler from Gainward/Palit has display port. Perhaps they also will make 480's with it? :)

The Surround driver has been put back to end of June.

http://blogs.nvidia.com/ntersect/2010/05/3d-vision-surround-driver-launch-timeline.html

Which means I have 4 Grand's worth of hardware collecting dust for another 6 weeks. Sheesh.

Looks awesome! I would be saying more than 'Sheesh' if I had to see that every day knowing the drivers weren't ready.

I have already buyed three 120Hz monitor too, but not two gtx480.
If you like you can have surround with the three monitors and 3d only in central monitor. When you play you don´t advice that laterals monitors aren´t in 3D because you are concentrated in the action of the central monitor
I am doing this in Bad Company 2, Wings of prey, Batman, Stalker... I think this is the best solution until the driver is released.

You can use the free software softTH for surround and nvidia 3d vision for 3d
You only have to remember that you must set multihead=0 in SoftTH.cfg and 3d vision will work in the central monitor. If you don´t know how softth works tell me and I will you post the configuration for Bad Company 2 (for example).
The effect is quite good for me
