Dell U2711... 2560x1440

Post by andrewzorn »

Someone mentioned to me that there's often discussion of high-res compatibility on this forum. I wasn't aware there were such problems (widescreen, yes, but not high res in itself), but he encouraged me to share any knowledge I might have about games running properly at this resolution.

If anyone has any suggestions or questions, I'd be glad to answer them...

Here are the games that support this resolution that I have played:
- Battlefield: Bad Company 2
- Counter Strike: Source
- Crysis / MWLL
- EVE Online
- Portal
- Serious Sam HD
- Shattered Horizon
- Supreme Commander 2
- Team Fortress 2
- The Void

I used X-Com: UFO Defense as an example when discussing the situation as a game that 'works', but at a lower resolution, so it is scaled up. No, it isn't running at 2560x1440, but I'm not having any compatibility problems either.

It is really nice, as awesome as they say. Only downside is the anti-glare coating sparkle.

I'd say still get it, as this monitor can use resolutions up to 2560x1440 (1920x1080 is supported and scales nicely)
