Buying two extra 28 inch Monitors, need expert setup advice!

Post by brotherofmetal »

Hello,

So I am planning on ordering two extra monitors for my current gaming rig. Naturaly, for gaming. I have two Nvidia 280 GTX's in SLI mode. I was wondering if someone could be kind enough as to show me the best solution to get the job done. I will have three of this monitor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824254043

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated, as I hope to have the monitors here by Monday or Tuesday.

Thanks much! :cheers

Well, any day now NVidia should be releasing drivers that will allow for 'Surround Gaming' on their existing GTX 2xx cards. You will need two of them (which you have). At the very latest, the NVidia drivers will be available Mar 26th when the new GTX 4xx cards come out. You DON'T need to buy a triplehead2go or an ATI card. At this point all you need is the two extra monitors and to wait for the drivers. This is assuming that there will be no issues with driver/monitor compatibility. You should be good to go.

Thanks for the speedy response.

So then, would I be safe to assume that only SoftTH would support three monitors at a resolution of 5760x1200? (Besides Nvidia's solution at the end of the month.)

Interesting...it's the 26th, but no drivers. Maybe I over looked something? I sure hope I did...

If you read the fine print in all the GTX 480/470 reviews that have come out today, they're saying the surround drivers will be available some time within the next month.

"Just like everything else related to fermi, the surround drivers are late."
