Re: 5040 + dx10, what gives ?
It seems pretty clear by now that refresh rates that are not strictly 60Hz are not available in DX10, so there is no way to get DX10 games working at 5040x1050 with TH2GO DE. Does DX11 help ? It's impossible to say at the moment, since DX11 cards (Ati) do not seem to support TH 5040x1050 at all.
That's all I know anyway :/

Hmm, I managed to force my TH2G to display at 59Hz (custom res in Nvidia), has anyone managed to get it working at 60 using a custom res?

Mmm no i can run DX10 games at 5040x1050 with TH2GO DE, mostly on windowed mode - Just Cause 2 Demo, Gears of War, STALKER Clear Sky, STALKER Call of Prypiat, Crysis, Crysis Wars - but Far Cry 2 i.e. on full screen.
I posted about this support some time ago here - http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=16978&hilit=DX10 .

The problem is, you're the only one to have ever posted about this  and windowed mode is not the most exciting of workarounds.
Not to mention the Matrox Wizard can't apply 5040 on my setup no matter what, and that's exactly what seems to do the trick for you. Ah well.

Yes, anyway i think that we cant say that "there is no way to get DX10 games working at 5040x1050 with TH2GO DE", since its working here.

In one game. Congrats. My apologies.
Did you try any DX11 games ? Did you see any difference in resolution support ?

Not one game m8, all DX10 work on matrox as i mentioned, some on windowed mode (5040x1050), looking the same of full screen, and one natively on full screen.
I cant test DX11 since there is no GPU that supports it and can run connected to a matrox adapter at 5040x1050, we'll have to wait for the Fermis.

Re: 5040 + dx10, what gives ?
Okay, allow me to be more specific:
-I do not think windowed mode is the same as full-screen 5040x1050, even though it "looks the same". Moving on...
-You do not necessarily need a DX11 GPU to run a game in DX11 mode. DX11 driver mode is downward compatible with DX10 and DX9 GPUs, so in Vista/7 you can run DX11 games in DX11 mode on a nvidia GT200, no problem. Not in Dirt2, mind you (because it was designed to sell Ati GPUs...), but it's the case in AvP and BFBC2 for instance.
Anyway, AvP DX11 seems to have the same limitations as DX10 games: 5040 + a couple custom res's are unavailable to me. I was wondering if you could confirm that ?

I cant cause i dont have AvP, otherwise i would test it.

AvP is probably not the best example, but I thought evvvverybody was playing BF:BC2 these days.

Re: 5040 + dx10, what gives ?
5040 + dx10 = no go, only window mode
3840 + dx10 = OK!, full screen + AA and all other eye candy
y is that ?

Re: 5040 + dx10, what gives ?
It's because of the refresh rates. DX10 requires 60Hz, which you can't get using a Matrox box. The Mview box won't help because they haven't got 5040x1050 @ 60Hz working either... unless it's in XP.

Re: 5040 + dx10, what gives ?
It is clear that DX10 is not working in 5040 thales100, I don't see why you keep bringing up that it works in windowed mode since we are all aware of this.
I have 60Hz as the reported refresh rate now with the latest nVIDIA drivers (197.13) and it has not helped the DX10 situation. Has anyone actually given a technical reason that refresh rates may be an issue? So far I've just found people saying "refresh rates that aren't 60Hz don't work with DX10" without giving any justification and now my refresh rate is 60Hz and it still doesn't work so I don't beleive this reason anymore.
Also SiriusDragon, in this thread kevintrisha reviews the mview box does and finds that it works at 60Hz and DX10 in Vista...

I would be nice to find out the real reason for this or heaven forbid get a fix but I have zero expectations for either possibility, just venting. RANT OFF

And i dont see how you can post such kind of non sense, you cant say that "DX10 is not working in 5040" since games like Far Cry 2 runs on DX10 at 5040x1050 full screen, plus many others run DX10 in windowed mode, also at 5040.

Re: 5040 + dx10, what gives ?
Whatever mate, I'm sorry for having a go at you but I really find it distracting that you keep saying that it does work in a thread asking WHY it doesn't work. I think that by "working", the OP implicitly means "working in full screen", or at least thats the question that interests me.
Also, TBH I didn't believe you had Far Cry 2 working as described untill you provided the screenshot so my apologies on that.
To make me look even sillier, I think BC2 is now working for me in fullscreen DX10 5040...
I'll try to limit my forum RAGE in the future but I cannot make any gaurantees since every time I start playing with my TH2GO I start to SEE RED :[
