I have a samsung ln40b500 HDTV with a VGA input. Yesterday I got my cable to hook up the laptop the the TV. I just ran the wire, hooked it up, and all was fine, it looked great. I didnt have to turn on the projector support on my Acer Windows 7 laptop.
Now, I cannot get it to work. I have tried all the settings. When i go to dual display, I want to use the same thing on both monitors. However, when I do this, the signal goes to a 4:3 1024 by 768 setting. My laptop screen goes to 4:3, with side bars, and my TV "stretches" the image. Needless to say, but this is horrible.
The max resolution my laptop can handle on its own using its own monitor is 1366 by 768. If I could duplicate this on both the laptop and on the TV all would be well.
I work as an IT person, and have done dual monitor setup's before, but I am out of answers. I went to Device Manager and changed the secondary monitor to a PNp monitor as well.
I know it worked perfectly the first time I hooked it up, but I just cant get it now. Any suggestions?
