Hi all

Does anyone know of a FOV edits for the game?
It is very vert- and while playable, just doesn't work very well in triscreen.
I did a search, but only came up with one find. It was just where someone had run the game in portrait mode, but no details as to edits to change the FOV, stc. So if someone can help me get it working better, I would really appreciate it :)

Thanks.

The HU series supports Surround res's since forever, but all titles stretch or are Vert-. I know very little about fixing/modding games besides simple .ini, registry or hex edits, but in my short relationship with HU2010 I couldn't find any way to alter the FOV.... (Hence the 'tallscreen' screenshot: if the HFOV is locked, go vertical I say !)

If someone finds anything, I too would appreciate...

Thanks

I made a request to the devs that this be looked into. I asked them to either fix the aspect ratio for proper triscreen aspect, or to add a line in the config for FOV edits.
I also let them know that this is a problem that has been reported for years now with the HU series and that since more and more people are going multimonitor now that AMD has a solution and Nvidia soon to release one as well, that games devs need to bring proper support for it to their games.

I also said I would post about the request here.

If anyone else would like to drop them a line in support of proper implemention of triscreen aspect ratios, please do so at [email protected]
He is the Chief Technology Officer and should be able to get the ball rolling on this, if he will.

I also expressed my interest in Ocean Dive, but it too is vert- and would have to be fixed before I actually buy it. If it is fixed, I will buy it if for nothing more than to show my appreciation for taking care of this issue with their games.

Problem is, SCS is all about the casual gamer and they don't usually reply to e-mails (I know... I've been a fan since HU1 and am the very proud owner of a copy of "Shark! Hunting the Great White"). Oceandive was released 4 or 5 years ago and will most likely not be updated/fixed anymore.
Fun frustrating fact: their hunting games are "narrow-minded" but some of their truck games run great in Surround... and all are built on the same in-house engine (prism3D).

Hi again

We may be getting a FOV switcher. A guy said he could try to make one, but he doesn't have triscreen. I offered to test it, if he makes it and tried to offer some information as to what is happening in triscreen mode as well as some suggestions as to what the FOV may need to be to help it.

If you go to the Official Site, you will find the thread in the Hunting Unlimited 2010 board.
Please post if you are interested in helping, or to just show support for the project.

Hopefully, if he makes it will also work in Ocean Dive too. I would buy that game, if it wasn't vert-.
Anyway, maybe we will have some help on the way pretty soon. But please show interest, so I don't look like the only one wanting this.

Thanks :)
