Thank you for those pics DaFox. How about you just skip the pointless foreplay?

Well I'll just jump to some conclusions. Based on the 3D background the game looks baseline 4:3 with anything wider Hor+ and 5:4 being Vert+. DaFox, care to whip up a fauxTH resolution and see what happens? I'm mighty curious.

-edit-
It just occurs to me...if SC2 gets official support of TH and EF then I expect associated hardware sales to go through the roof in Korea. ;)

Sadly I cant :( There is a minimum resolution clamp, 768px high, so 1280x720 doesn't work, 800x600 doesn't work and it means that I can't grab 1280x320 3x4:3 shots :(

How about a fauxTH res that meets the min res requirements that you then run in windowed mode? I've done this with other games during my single-screen days. Fraps can still capture a full screenshot even if the game window exceeds your screen size.

Sorry if I'm being picky...just very curious at how Blizzard is going to treat multi-mon setups.

That stinks. :( Thanks for trying, though.

Any TH or EF players with beta access?

Yeah :( It was actually one of the first things that I tried.

This guy has access but he hasn't really tried Surround yet. :(

i just started dling the beta client, after seeing i've got access, but sadly i haven't decided on what screens to get for my surround setup, so i'll only be able to play in 16:10 max

Yeah I saw that other thread, DaFox. I decided to post an inquiry over there to see if that particular user might want to try some testing.

So what does it take to get the beta? Is it closed? Could I download the client somewhere? If it's accessible to me I'll try to test it myself.

It's insanely hard to get into the beta, its very closed. Even the users that got keys from Blizzcon have not all gotten in this first wave.

You used to be able to get the beta from Fileshack, seems they have pulled it (probably due to blizzard wanting to serve it up with their own methods.) Torrenting seems to be the only option now. You are able to hack the beta (by moving a few files around) to watch replays. I haven't tested that out yet but I'll get on it. At least we will know how the FOV scales ingame.

So you could download the torrent and fool around with it if you want.

I figured Blizzard was running a tight ship, but that's downright puckered. ;)

I might try out the unofficial distribution, but based on the info you posted in the other thread it seems like Blizzard has put a lot of effort into display compatibility and overall presentation. If it was working for your buddy in TH that's reassuring.

Some quick shots (not official comparison shots so mind the title bar and resolution, I'll leave those to someone with Surround)

Loading screen: (Everything's centered so it should scale great)

ITS HORIZZONTALPLOOSE :cheers

Here's one more comparison:

by now my feelings about this game are this:
sc2 is a game that looks like wc3, plays like sc1 and has features common to gaming and the rts-genre in special for like 6-7 years (that includes gameplay changes and the so-called "new" battle.net 2.0) - real bummer
guess i won't be getting this game until there's a complete edition with all sp-campaigns+maps for like 5 bucks if they don't throw in something that would make it worth the horrendous price model they're trying to establish ...
60€ for the main game + 40-50% of this amount for the other campaign and then talking about selling additional maps? activision/blizzard has gone nuts ...

The original SC had an expansion... this game is said to be as long as the original SC and the two expansions as long as Brood War. Honestly I don't get the problem.

The problem is selling two thirds of your game separately as "expansions." A single Terran campaign is not a complete Starcraft game. Not even a crazy long Terran campaign. I'm not buying this until they sell the whole thing in one box either (though I'd easily pay sixty bucks for it).
