Fix Released

You can find it at 3DSurroundGaming=>My Surround Fixes.

- Use the version of WSF found on my website (v662) (Lates version of WSF is not compatible with my plugins anymore)
- Grab the plugin and put it in Plugins folder.
- Follow the instructions in the plugin configuration.
- Enjoy:)

Regards,
Helifax

Cheers Helifax, everything works perfectly now :clap:

Took your time! It has been at least 10 minutes since you were given the game to fix!! :mrgreen: I thought I was going to have to do this myself...then I remembered I can't :stupid:

Good work man :rockout:

To be honest this game seems a little sub-par anyways, so I'm not even sure if I'll put in the time - glad I got it cheap.

Don't give up on it, make sure you at least join a faction and play as a faction with the new skills etc(basically this assigns a class to you and open up the game). Once you pick a faction then it is a totally different game and owns big time. I really dig it.

Well now that Helifax has fixed it, I'll play it some more - but if don't like it, I'm looking at you for a refund :mrgreen:

this does NOT work on the DVD Retail version :( still get 3 Screens mirrored, even after i tab out and back in 3 times
it does seem like i'd would like to work, when tabing out before the main menue ("press any button" screen) it does span over 3, but quickly closes it again. and yes i did select the .ini file !

Is there any way to get it working ? i've got Cheat Engine and Gamewiz32 ready....
or Teamviewer/VNC, you can hit me up on IRC mostly anytime ^^

Hmm I'm getting that crash to desktop issue while the fix is running - are we suppose to do any .ini tweaks or have them default?

Hmm...

I know that I am using Surround and not Eyefinity (on Nvidia Surround I can't make the displays render the same screen 3 times no matter what I do...) so It might be a driver thingy? I can try and give a look though;))

Teamviewer should be just fine;))

FYI - those that can not get it to work or have it crashing, I had that prob too this is how I run it:

1. * one time to initialize the fix * Run Widescreen Fixer no game running set you settings and make sure you browse to your ConfigDefault.xml and save your settings
2. close Widescreen Fixer
3. Run Risen 3 get pas the press button so that you see all the menu options
4. Alt tab out , launch Widescreen Fixer
5. Alt tab back in the game
6. Load your save file or start a new game
7. now finally alt tab out and then alt tab to go back in , you will notice the huds and menus are all perfect the final fix has kicked in

That is it, don't have Widescreen Fixer running first before you boot the game up, do it after or it will crash or not work(well for me this way works 100%).

Also I run the game in offline mode I doubt this matters though.

Yeah I figured that out too - to run the game first and then run the fix after it's booted. I just wanted to confirm with you that the GUI is still on the left monitor - Helifax said that was the case, but if by some reason you have the GUI (mini-map/health etc) centred? Also the inventory and such menus, they are overlapping for everyone - but mostly centred?

Hello, I'm looking to play Risen 3 in eyefinity 5x1 portrait setup; 5400 x1920. Is there anyway to get this game to work? I've tried messing with the ini files, ect.. Thanks for taking the time to read and reply to this post.

Using Helifax's Fix and manually setting resolution to 5400x1920 does not help?

Sorry, I seen the auto resolution selector picked the proper resolution and thought that it was right. I unchecked the auto detect resolution and noticed it thought i was using 3 monitors. You were right about manually typing it in. worked perfectly after that. Thank for the help.

Now that I got it to work one time. I exited out of the game and it won't start up anymore lol. It goes to a black screen and tries to load like it did the first time it worked. Then it just crashes without any pop up window. Guess the game doesn't like portrait eyefinity 5 no matter what lol.

Latest Steam patch (3rd Sept 2014 - v1.?) breaks Widescreen Fixer. Obviously a plugin update is required .... Hope Helifax isn't done with the game, it's beautiful.

The patch is pretty nice because it enables to play with 3 screens in surround mode.

But unfortunately, the inventory windows are just behind the bezels and you are unable to read the important numbers (such as price), this makes using the traders impossible.

Love the game! I just checked and there is a patch v1.2 out. Did anyone try it with the v1.1 plugin? Did it work?

I've spent about 2-3 hours trying everything. The recent visual patch borked the plugin - it no longer works at all. Until someone adjusts it, widescreen for this game isn't possible.

Jackfuste Solution works also for 21:9 :onethumb:

Just change the following Lines in ConfigDefault.xml:

Aspect16x9 VirtalWidth="3440" VirtalHeight="1440"

FullScreen="true"

SubtitleLanguage="English"

No need to copy "codex.ini" and "steam_api64.dll"

I have updated the detailed report to cover the two methods. Retail and 32-bit Steam versions are the previous build of the game, so Helifax's solution should still work for those situations. The retail version can be updated with the 64-Bit Upgrade but that might not work with Jackfuste's fix.

Awesome work J;)

I still didn't manage to give it a look. I'll give it a look soon (for those who are still interested in the WSF plugin).

Hey guys, I used the cracked .exe with the Config file and everything went fine until a cutscene started. Then, almost anything except the moving characters appears white and the rest is a bright blue. Do you know what's missing or wrong in the configuration?

Edit: I already found someone who had almost the same problem, but it turned out that he used to fix something in the CCC of his AMD card. I use an GTX 560 Ti.

Help. The file under the permission of 3440х1440 does not work with the version of the game Risen 3 Titan Lords - Enhanced Edition GOG 64 bit (setup_risen3_enhanced_edition_2.0.0.3). Is there any way to fix it?

FOR Risen 3 Titan Lords - Enhanced Edition GOG 64 bit.
SET 3440х1440:
1. edit \data\ini\ConfigDefault.xml and %APPDATA%\Local\Risen3\Config\ConfigUser.xml set it to:
Right="3440"
Bottom="1440"
FullScreen="false"

2. Download Borderless Gaming. You can use this app to "FullScreen"* (aka remove windows borders) from any windowed application*.

* The next step is only useful if you're having an issue with the Windows cursor showing up in-game when you're in windowed mode. Push Win+Scroll Lock to hide cursor.

An alternative solution for the GOG version, which worked for me:

HEX edit "Risen3.exe", search for "39 8E E3 3F" (there should be only 2 values) and replace them with, in my case "26 B4 17 40" (21x9 - 2560x1080).
That's it.

Although that will leave the HUD stretched.
I fixed that by editing the "ConfigDefault.xml" inside "%gamefolder%/data/ini".
Under "Aspect16x9" just swap the value of "VirtalWidth=" from "1920" to "2560".

Haven't tested it personally but I think it would work for 3440x1440 by using the "8E E3 18 40" hex values instead and of course "3440" instead of "2560".
