5-6 hours later, fixed..... working on the plugin.

FMV (non rendered cutscenes) are still stretched, that's about the only remaining bug that I'm aware of but I haven't even left first scene yet.

I haven't really tested anything other than surround resolutions, eg. 5760x1080, and multiples of 16:9... so no idea how 21:9 etc would go or if it even works.

Do report any bugs, seems Dark Souls II is a bit crashy by nature however..

Thanks for the fix! some bugs:

Can't lock on target anything, nothing seems to happen with fix.

Bonfire text is missing, the ui for it is in the right place but no text at all.

Character creation, when you enter your name the text is not aligned, also think the mouse control on sliders isnt aligned (acts as if the hud was stretched still)

Hi HaYdeN

Would you like us to report bugs here? If so, the targeting reticle is off-centre when playing 21:9 (2560x1080)

Other than that, it's working fine. First post here, donated via the link on the app. Appreciate the effort from all!

Awesome work HaYDeN, as always, thanks man works perfectly.

Yeah bonfire has no options which is a bit strange. I am also running nvidia surround at 5760x1080. The other thing I must add is the lack of hp bars on normal mobs though when running away they seem to appear briefly. Boss hp bars seem to still exist. It seems its text on blacksmith talking to him as well though it doesn't interfere with anything other than the selection dialogue boxes.

Great fix Hayden, thank you for once again fixing a game before anyone else!

I am running on 2560x1080 and it works great, although one concern is the HUD placement can be better, it's not at the edge of the screen like it should be:

Image

If it's possible to fix that then it would be great if you can do so.

Running nvidia surround 5760 x 1080. Same bugs as listed. Can't see lock on on circle on enemy or their health bar and bonfire text is gone and there is a huge golden, translucent wall that appears on screen. Also, noticed when naming character text was not in box, it was in the background off to the left.

*PS - thanks for such fast work! It seems to run solid at 60-61 with occasional dips down to 35 in Majula near the grass sections.

Don't be impatient, it's been less then a day before you first posted. To answer your question, the fix is designed to fix aspect ratios BEYOND 16:9 not lower then, your monitor is 16:10, which is a lower aspect ratio.

Fix works like a charm. I am however experiencing the same bugs everyone else is reporting. No health bar on enemies, and I can't indicate who I'm locking on to. Also, most of the text disappears on the bonfire HUD.

Either way, fantastic job like always! :rockout:

A temporary workaround for this is to disable the HUD fix (uncheck the box). All the menus and loading screens will be stretched and the health/stamina/souls meters will be on the outer screens as well, but its worth it IMO to be able to run 5760x1080... I would imagine Hayden will be addressing it soon. :rockout:

The fix works great but, is there a way to make it so windowed mode works like a borderless window? using a 5:4 resolution here (1280 x 1024) and i cant get rid of the window borders

is there any plans for 16:10 support? I was really bummed about it when I discovered that I had black bars top and bottom of my screen. I've seen quite a few other people post on the Steam hub about it too.

Updated Dark Souls II fix

- Targeting reticle now visible
- Bonfire text now visible.
- Buttons for setting the window to Borderless (try these for 21:9 and 16:10)
- Fixed a bug where HUD Fix toggle wasent disabling the fix.

For those complaining about the HUD being centered to 16:9 in 21:9 this is because the engine stretches the HUD if it's not a native 16:9 resolution, so this is actually desired behaviour - if you want the HUD to span the full screen... but stretched, then simply untick the HUD Fix.

Click check for updates to update to the latest fix, if no updates show up it may have already installed if you have automatic updates enabled.

EDIT: Scratch that im retarded

Another question, does the game force the FPS to stay at 30 when in windowed mode? seems like my framerate drops when switching from fullscreen to the borderless option

Ally HP bars when in a group with others glitches off to the side under the current fix as well as damage text isn't showing on HP bars when hitting enemies, I think those are the only two things I have still noticed offhand. Thanks for the fast patch :D.
Having widescreen makes this game so much more enjoyable, well that and progression :D.

Unfortunately the only thing this fix does on my computer is remove all the text from all menus. It does not appear to correct the aspect ratio at all. Borderless works but stretches the UI in the menu, but in-game I'm still stuck with only the center screen regardless of settings. =(

Sorry for the double post (mods feel free to merge and remove this line)

Also: I've noticed you have a fair deal of information in the status window of Flawless Widescreen. The only thing that appears in mine is "Injecting...".

Running with 2x GTX680 in SLI @ 6040x1080 Bezel Corrected.

Known bugs remaining:

- Hit damage count (to the left above the health bar) is not visible. (I personally dont think this is worth the time to fix as it's diffcult to start debugging while keeping it on screen)

- FMV Cinematics are stretched. (low priority)

I'm having the exact same problems as this guy. No aspect fix, just "Injecting..." and all text vanishes.

Found the solution. I had enabled "Override Display Detection (Manual)" in the settings dialog and that was causing the display adapter to be recognized as generic. Switched back to the default settings (All checked in "Display Detection Hardware Support") and "Enable Surround Assumption" with default values and now it works perfectly. Great fix!

The party members menu is bugged (only shows up when you summong or join other players). The health bars jump everywhere and the names don't match up. If you need help testing this, I can join your game and AFK while you look for the solution.

Hello, and great work! This is looking very promising.

However, while setting the game to borderless window removes the letterbox for 16:10 resolutions, it does not seem to actually be rendering @16:10 internally, but rather just cropping a 16:9 image. Here is a screenshot taken @1920x1200 borderless window, resized and superimposed over a screenshot taken @1920x1080 of the same area:

Image

Would be great if you could make it so it renders at 16:10 (and other ratios) internally.

Thanks and keep up the great work :)

This game is now VAC secured so I'm not sure if continued use of Flawless Widescreen will work. Hayden will have to chime in

What do you mean is now VAC? It wasn't before? I ask, because I've been using the fix for coop and invasions just fine so far.

Yes, as of today Valve has enabled VAC for Dark Soul 2 - it's now listed on the store page as well.

more info here: http://www.reddit.com/r/DarkSouls2/comm ... uld_avoid/

(for the record I'm risking it and still using FWS and GeDoSaTo)

I've updated the plugin to add a warning that you will need to tick before proceeding, prior to today the game was not VAC secured supposidly - atleast the store did not make mention of it.

In theory, offline mode is completely safe.

Online mode is a definite grey area, the HUD fix changes the executable integrity in memory - there is no other way to do it... my understanding is that VAC only detects known hacks that it has a signature for, but it's possible they implement a EXE wide consistancy check.

Another words, tread with caution - I feel I've taken all the steps I can take to make you aware of the risk, the assessment of that risk is up to you.

Guys,

So the game was working fine yesterday, meaning that eyefinity was working fine. However after today's game update thru steam now I have the two side monitors black. I have tried:
Changing resolutions
Unplugging them
Turning on GPU scaling on CCC and nothing....any Ideas? thanks a lot.

No problem. Hopefully VAC doesn't ban for it. If it does, be sure to post here :D.

I'm personally waiting a few weeks before going back to multiscreen =(

I know this might be extra work, but has anyone tried letting Valve know (if such a thing is possible) about the fix to get an approval from them? This way, VAC can somehow white list flawless widescreen.

Valve tends to whitelist apps on their own. There is no process for formally submitting something to be whitelisted.

VAC bans are delayed. You won't know if they're banning for it for 2weeks to 2 months.

Not saying you are banned, just saying you won't know if its bannable yet.

Those of you that are worried, please read this : http://www.reddit.com/r/DarkSouls2/comm ... about_vac/

In short, Valve will not respond whether a mod is bannable or not. However, their statement says that the ONLY thing they ban for are mods that give other players an advantage over others.

My interpretation of this means that they will only ban when they know something is 100% a cheat/bannable offence. I think using FWS is safe. Again, this is my opinion based on no concrete facts.

I am still around:) Just been busy with other stuff;)) and didn't have time for other things:) There is no point in fixing an already fixed game;)) So;))

Metal Gear Rising Revenge - I didn't even had time to install it ... yet:))
Dark Souls 2 - I used Hayden's fix and it works perfect for me...haven't played more than one day though:))

I do have Resident Evil 4 fix laying around...but didn't had time to make it in a plugin also:)) So:)) atm pretty busy;)) Thx for asking though ^_^

I tried the fix as well and it doesn't seem to work.

Fix enabled alone would allow the game to run normally (Black Boxes on monitors 1 and 3)

Aspect or HUD Fix causes all text to disappear and black boxes remain.

****UPDATE****

I was able to fix the issue. I found that I had Flawless Widescreen installed under C:\ while all of my steam games were in E:\
Despite pointing to the location in the settings it seemed to bug out being on a different drive. Re-installing FW under E:\ fixed it all up.

+1. Nowhere did I find instructions that told me I needed to do any of this. The following instructions should be put on a post somewhere on the first page, to help those having issues:

1)If your Steam Library is across multiple drives, add all the directories under Settings > Configuration > Steam Path Matching.

2)If you still have issues, move widescreen fixer binary files and whatnot to the same drive as the game you need to patch.

EDI:
Looks like I broke it. It was all correct but when I finished posting this and re-launched, it squeezed everything to the center screen. :(

Using Flawless Widescreen fixer as well, and up till today all was working great. After the update on 5/27 I am getting all three screens stuck with a pure white background. Dark Souls 2 goes into (not responding) and the text on the status window of the FWF just says configuring. Thanks for all the help to make widescreen gaming actually possible!

I’ve been using FW v1.0.12 with the Dark Souls 2 plug-in released on the 26th of April. It worked perfectly for my monitor 1280x1024 and I had disabled auto-update to prevent any problems. “Why mess with it, if it works, right?” But today I needed to download a new plugin for a new game and I had to update to download the other plugin for some reason.

The new Dark Souls 2 plugin gives me a bug where some text on some action prompts is out of place. I think it’s from the updated plugin because the bug is present in both v1.0.12 and v1.0.15 of FW.

Now I need the plugin from the 26th or the 27th don’t know which one I downloaded last before I turned off auto-update. I’m not worried about VAC bans. If someone has these versions of the plugin please post them or send them to me.

Please I’m kind of bummed out because it was perfect and I just knew something like this would happen. Next time I’ll remember to have a second folder with a second FW for other games.

Edit: After some fiddling around I think what happened was that the fix for party members broke the text on other menus with Hud fix on, when I disable Hud fix it gets a bit better but then I have a different issue where stat bonuses don’t display directly under the stamina bar.

I need the plugin from the 26th of April, since that one worked for me and I don’t care for the party members name bug. I don’t use summons anyway and I like having Hud fix on.

Unknown.

I am hoping that either HaYDeN gets time, widescreen fixer add a plugin or someone else comes up with a solution. At the moment I cant even bring myself to play it. /firstworldproblems

I've talked with Hayden yesterday about the fix and I found out what was wrong with it. Hayden thought he fixed it (as he did other fixes) but apparently he missed this one.
I think he will push an updated version soon, but I really don't know when he will do it (since I'm not him:)) )

There is a workaround guys... Spread game manually. See my PLP post on previous page. FWS & WSF are NOT needed if Crossfire is not being used & you don't mind stretched menus.

I really hope its soon I do not think the DX9 version of Dark Souls 2 will be updated ever again as the next release is DX11 only so it will be a brand new program exe.

Hi all,

Can anyone describe what the exact issue is they are getting so I can compare my experience?

I've been wrestling with DS2 for a few days now to get a triple screen setup running for this game.

I've got it running with Flawless Widescreen, but the game still only runs on the center screen.

In Flawless Widescreen I get this message:
Code:
Last Error:
Could not find TextAspectX injection point, Dark Souls II may have updated to a version that is no longer supported.

Try restarting Dark Souls II or selecting a different version and re-enable the fix.

Does this match with anybody else's experience?

Thanks.

Massive thanks to HaYDen he has now fixed his FWS plugin for this to work again (use offline only to avoid a VAC ban though).

HaYDen, thank you for the update. Peace will soon return to the Shire. I have 1 problem and it may be unique to my setup. As soon as the game loads the video stutters horizontally constantly. It will occasionally stop for less than a second, but as it is set now it is unplayable. Rev 6 worked fine until Steam switched out of GFWL.Then as everyone else I could only use the center screen. Any suggestions? Thanks

Yea, I'm getting the same error on my portrait setup (3240x1920). To be clear my game runs on all 3 screens even without FW, it just has little black bars. So my issue is not as serious as yours, but I do get that error.

My landscape setup isn't even playable though. I'm running 3840x1024 and for some reason it cuts off on my side monitors and everything is zoomed in except UI elements. See the 3rd picture.

I'm getting nothing but a black screen. I can hear the game, but the video is all black.
