I'd like a DVI version of the TH2G sometime...

It's a sad fact that when talking to young sales people in local computer shops a good 90% + haven’t even heard of Matrox, about the only ones that have are people who were into computers when the Parhelia came out and they have heard of it.

Matrox had a great opportunity to get right in the thick of it with LCD's and DVI and the release of ever faster graphic cards like the 8800 to make Matrox the buzz-word in gaming with a giant poster in every computer shop, I could just imagine the headline "Immerse yourself with Matrox TH2G".

Marks out of ten for a guess at what they did?

They totally blew it, and shut their forum down.

Two very good observations:-

RUS007 "We just have to look at the facts that Matrox doesn’t want to continue being a player in the gaming industry."

Starfighter "Now matrox will take one more step backward into the grey zone of anonymity until nowbody knows what and that they are selling products."

Bit late with the second one... as I said 90%+ don't know if it's a toaster or a compter part. :(

I first encountered Matrox with the Mystique. That was a great card for the time! :D

Not totally, but indeed maybe a deeper relation to Nvidia would have been more productive.
But otherwise they could have lost their independence, or worse could have become a part of the nvida corporation :)

They have already gave us all the tools we need. Do we need to get them to come over our homes and player the games for us too?

Well it appears that they will, because now, instead of going tot he forum to see what bug fixes or other solutions for the TH2G have been found by others like ourselves, we must email them and ask for assistance directly.

"The Matrox Graphics Technical Support team is available to offer quick and accurate support when required. "

Well, to do that, then, it appears that they closed the forum so they could go out and buy every game imaginable as to have them on hand for troubleshooting eh?

Very bad move IMO matrox. I have no issues coming here to scan posts, but we all know the best source of knowledge is from your existing customer base. There are still links in search results for certain program issues that lead back to the closed forum.

As a techie, I'm fine because I can come here or find other forums, but for others, returns can be seen in their futures, because they are not going to have that knowledge, and you guys certainly are not going to be able to cover every application out there yourselves, it takes a community to do that, and positive or negative, it was the best part of havign support forums online.
