Performance seems OK here... it chokes when the overlay is on screen, but otherwise seems fine so far. :)

Unfortunately FWS doesn't seem to see the game for me, so the aspect ratio is still messed up... does the fix support the current Steam version?

It should.

As usual if it's non english or something - that may present a problem as the program looks for a window with a english title for example.

Normal English settings. On Steam, here in the US. Everything up to date. I even disabled Beta versions on Steam itself, but that didn't seem to make any difference.

I was starting to wonder if it was a problem with my system or install or something because Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 wasn't detected at all either...

Finally I tried Bioshock and it at least detected that, but broke it so that the main menu is hidden (filed a bug report on the FWS forums for that).

Is there something that could be causing my setup in general to just not work correctly? I'd LOVE to get this stuff working.

(You can see my Steam profile on my forum profile on here to see the games I own, so you can see I'm running the stock American versions in English on Steam itself.)

FWS v1.0.12 (x86-64) with plugins 2.1.44 - Rev: 1 up to date etc...

Could you please post an IP address for it for Repository Source URL in the program update settings? Will it work with IP instead of URL?
Thanks a lot!

No it won't work with the IP - I only just woke up so it's only JUST been fixed, shouldn't be more than half an hour or so before it propagates.

Running this with the fix enabled on NV driver version 337.50beta and the fix detects the game on start and says, "Configuring..." in the status window and the aspect ratio is not being applied. Flawless hangs on Configuring unless that's what its suppose to say.

780gtx with 16:10 monitors. 5760x1200 (48:10) set in Video options. Framerate is fluid and fine. No other issues.

Recommendation?

Domain is back now, a quick hack for those with slow DNS servers would be to add it to the hosts file

C:\Windows\System32>nslookup flawlesswidescreen.org
Server: DD-WRT
Address: 192.168.2.1

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: flawlesswidescreen.org
Address: 23.239.157.38

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
23.239.157.38 www.flawlesswidescreen.org

That is not the correct behaviour, but I'd like to know why you are having the issue - I had no end of trouble with the latest NVIDIA beta's I had to roll back, I doubt thats the problem however.

Has FWS worked for you in the past?

Yes it has. I've never had any issues with it ever in fact. This is the first time.

It could be the betas like you say but I'm currently running them to fix issues with the Carmaggeddon Reincarnation alpha so I'll have to wait til there is another WHQL release if that's the case.

Sorry Hayden, but it doesn't seem to be working - I get all kinds of 'failed to download' errors, even if it did connect at first (since it did download a list of available plugins).

(DNS doesn't seem to be the problem, as I can browse your site now)
*edit: nevermind - even though the site was working in my browser, DNS turned out to somehow be the problem after all :) weird!

Got it working by updating Flawless Widescreen to 64bit. ?_? I don't know why but it works now! :)

Detection processes fires off and moves past the "Configuring..." stage now and the ingame AR is fixed. :rockout:

Yesterday there was no 64bit update when I clicked "Check for Updates" but I did it again today and it was available. Updated and works like a charm.

I did notice this which I thought was a little wierd.

Image

The line under DisplayDetection that reads, "Preferred Display \\.\NVMosaic connected to GeForce 210"

Clearly this isn't my preferred display. I'm running my 4th aux monitor off of this card.

Obviously this doesn't affect the fix or how its working because its working and I have that monitor currently turned off so... beats me :)

Thanks for this fix, but Im having problems, it loads the game and seems to work fine with the fix applied, but pressing resume it gets to the point of pressing E to start and hangs on a black screen with music playing in the background, never loads the game

Any ideas?

EDIT - Sorted, needed to set FWS to auto rez, some reason setting it to my actual rez broke the game

Because the game is 64bit you have to run the 64bit version of FWS otherwise it can't modify 64bit processes.

DisplayDetection module needs a overhaul basically.

Hey guys, has anyone had an issue on nVidia surround? It seems that when the loading screen prompts me to press E to start the level, the game hangs and stops responding on a black screen. When the resolution is 1920x1200, the game is just fine.

Has anyone had this? :nudgenudge:

EDIT: Found the exact issue. When Screen-Space Reflections is enabled, FPS goes down REAL bad. When it disabled, smooth 60 fps.

Have this issue but looks like I need the 64-bit version of FWS based on the previous comments. Is this Screen Space Reflection an in-game setting or something in FWS?

Also, does anyone know how to remove the 60FPS cap?

It's an in-game setting in the advanced video options. Apparently the option is bugged currently. With it enabled, I was literally getting .5 FPS (one frame rendered every two seconds). With it disabled, solid 60FPS across three monitors with all other eye candy enabled.

Ditto here as well.
Just got an update, and it now hangs at configuring.

I tried clearing the installation and attempting it fresh to no avail.

Mine is working again - did you all update? It should be configured to update on launch, but if you've turned it off, then you'll need to check for updates.

Fix works fine here for me on 290 AMD but every time i go back to main menu or reload a game after dying or go to a next level the game crash.
If i turn off the fix then no more crash.
Thank you any way Hayden for great work.

FWS does not detect the game while running. AMD R290, Windows 8.1. I re-downloaded the 64-bit version just in case, but no go:

Searching for Wolfenstein: The New Order process, please configure desired settings and launch the game.

Any tips?

EDIT: I figured it out. The game has a ® in the name. With Japanese set as the default non-unicode region in Windows, this symbol becomes changed to something else. Switching regions in the OS fixed it, but ideally Flawless Widescreen should either wildcard symbols like that in the plugin config, or let the user customize which process it hooks through a selection menu in case patches or region settings break name parsing.

Any word on fixing the cut scenes? Everything seems to be working other than that. I am gaming on three 1920x1200 monitors. The cut scene stretches to fill the center monitor to a 16x10 resolution.
I have dual Nvidia 680s.
I actually have two Radeon R9s that I may put in next week. Don't know if that will make any difference.

Something must be up with the autodetect on flawless widescreen, manually set the values for my resolution and it fixed my issue

TNO or The Old Blood ? I don't think TNO was patched since 2014, so plugin 2.1.99 Rev 2 should still work. Try to override Display Detection settings.
