Looking like a pretty good job as far as Surround support goes with HUD and UI. However it is suffering from the same Far Cry 3 field of view problem where it is locked at 60ish, and cannot change unless you aren't on surround.
Can I say, easy flawless widescreen fix? |
Tried using the flawless Far Cry 3 fix, it couldn't find the injection point in the process to actually change any FoV values, so I'm sure it's different again like FC4.
Far Cry 5 protected by EasyAntiCheat which doesn't allow memory manipulating.
Probably, when the game will be cracked, then it will be possible to make FOV trainer for Eyefinity/Surround. |

I found this out last night
We should all hit up their PC support forums, if Assassin's Creed Origins has a FOV slider it is ridiculous / unacceptable that a FPS does not and on top of that is code locked at 60 FOV. Anyways when I make a post on their forum I will link it here and check if anyone else has made a post and I will help out and support any request to fix it officially since it is memory protected. Sad day indeed. |
Yes it is, although the game is fun, the FoV is pretty atrocious. Post away valcan, I'll follow your post.
Wow, yea. That is really bad. Locked at 62 for me. I almost barfed before I finished the intro. Hope this will get fixed.
Well that sucks. I was already waiting for a patch or 3 before I picked it up. Can one of you who have already bought it post a screenshot of the super low FOV?
Sure, here's my screens.
![]() ![]() Yeah that's about 60 FoV or so. I've also went ahead and started a thread in the Ubisoft PC tech support forum for Far Cry 5. https://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1860640-FoV-is-locked-when-using-Eyefinity-nVidia-Surround |

Been lurking here forever first time poster. Hayden you are the man! Your contributions to the WideScreen gaming community are immeasurable! Thank you so much.
Now onto Farcry 5... Please everyone go to the Ubisoft website and start giving your feedback on how much 60 FOV sucks. There are a couple threads regarding the issue. The louder we scream 60 FOV sucks, the better chance we have of them addressing the issue. Thanks everyone and happy widescreen gaming! |

You guys can change you fov in
\Documents\My Games\Far Cry 5 gamerprofile.xml If you change the FOV and restart your game it takes effect. Alters scope zoom etc but makes the game not in your face FOV. 85 seems to work well for me @5760x1080 but its annoying that the gun FOV doesnt change =( |
@det10xCorrupt Thanks for the info will try it after work. I can't stand the feeling like I'm shooting the gun out of my mouth.

The FOV does not work at all for mult screen mode. Here are some comparisons at 110 FOV, I even made the file read only(it doesn't mater) the game modifies the values during run time and only inits the values from the config file at load time and then ignores it: FOV 110 @ 1080p: ![]() FOV 110 @ 5760x1080: ![]() FOV 110 @ 1080p showing what 5760x1080 FOV is like in comparison, the yellow bars show you what is cur off above and below: ![]() Not to mention they disable the FOV yet again: Enabled @ none multi screen: ![]() Disabled @ mutli screen: ![]() It really is brutal and does not work at all |
Cool man, I just made a post at your link on the Ubisoft forum for FC5 PC support, in it I also added the screens of the issues and explained the issue to help them out. Lets hope they take it seriously and fix it this time. |

I knew I would find a post about this here. The game makes me sick whenever I get inside a building, car, or any other surface where the focus is up close. It's hard to believe they would lock surround/eyefinity at 60 degrees. The decisions some devs make simply make no sense. Like AC5 with no SLI support (or) SLI support in FC5, but then locking the FOV. The description in-games states something about how the fov is locked to prevent stretching. There's a whole lot of room to expand before you have to worry about stretching. I'll hit the thread and hope for a change...

Hey Guys,
Stinks that we have to wait patiently for support. I played today for about 5 min. before I gave up. The FOV is TERRIBLE. I have submitted a ticket so I'll keep you guys updated if I hear anything. I don't have time tonight to test but apparently someone online has found a workaround for the Easy Anti Cheat system and a trainer has already been created. I won't post the link here (do a quick google search) but hopefully we could use that to find the FOV value in memory and adjust. I'll do some experimentation tomorrow but hopefully Jackfuste can apply his magic kiax0001 |

I submitted a ticket with some system files attatched since they wanted a DXDIAG. I really hope this listen to all the people submitting tickets. Thanks guys.

We've determined unanimously in this post that changing the .xml file does not work. I've tried any number of combinations in the .xml file like changing the FOV value; trying to force surround screen resolution in borderless mode. I even went to windowed mode where you can adjust the FOV, but as soon as you widen the window across all screens and go back into the settings you find the FOV is greyed out again and set to 60 which is confirmed on the screen. Performance was pretty bad in this mode, but I tried it as a test. It must calculate on the fly and as soon as the resolution exceeds 16:9 or 16:10 aspect ratio it automatically reverts & locks the FOV to 60. If anyone has any luck I'd love to hear about it, but it seems there's no getting around this one without a fix from the devs... |

Since EasyAntiCheat was bypassed, so FOV unlock is possible now.
It's recommended to play in offline mode in Steam and Uplay, to avoid being banned.

Just in time...
That clever Ubisoft suport gave me the solution: YOU ALWAYS CAN PLAY WITH A SINGLE MONITOR FOR BETTER EXPERIENCE... |
Oh my word. ARE YOU SERIOUS? Total loss of respect for them then. Although, to be fair, your support ticket was probably attended to by an outsourced guy in India who has never seen a multi-monitor setup. But does that make it right? Perhaps you should send them this letter: "Dear Ubisoft, I received the attached reply in response to my Eyefinity/Surround FOV complaint. It seems that someone has hacked your email account and is sending out false and ridiculous emails in your name. Just thought I would mention this so that you can track down the culprit and put a stop to it. Yours faithfully...." |
Awesome, works perfectly. Thanks again jackfuste, you do some good work my friend! |
You Sir, are a legend. I confirm this works. So really easy and simple. My FOV set to 90 on my 7680 x 1440 system, running stable at 59 FPS on ultra, looks lovely. A little worried about your "being banned" comment though. How can we just get Ubisoft to implement this without the ban risk? |
Hello JackFuste, would be possible to do this in The Division? Actually that game hasn't easyanticheat, is infested by cheaters, and i just would want to have a better FoV since i play 4320x2560. I don't give a shit if i'm banned given the actual state of the game so, i'm up for testing if you need. Thanks in advance. |
Any idea if it is possible to unlock aspect ration on cutscenes? It goes back to 16:9 on every cutscene
Salute!
Damn that is insane! I thought it be impossible for the anti cheat thing Massive thank you jackfuste your work is insane and awesome! So here is a huge question since you just did this miracle with FC5 does this not mean you can be the first person to get both Far Cry Primal and Far Cry 4 to actually work since it has the exact same FOV issue, game engine and I am assuming the very same EasyAntiCheat issue to not allow you to mod it? If you can also fix Primal and FC4 we all can finally play the whole series in multi screen! Looks like it is going to be a very good long weekend |
Here's unlock for cutscenes: Restore original FC_m64.dll from backup, before applying patch. |
Oh man if you can do Far Cry 4 as well that would be legendary (I just refunded this on Steam the other day cuz of FOV). It is on sale for cheap on Uplay right now! Jackfuste you are da man! |

Any way to unlock the fov when climbing ladders or other activities and any way to change the viewmodel fov. the command is "fNearFov". It is uncomfortable having a 65 or 75 degree viewmodel fov with a 100+ camera fov.
Totally it is amazing, the diff is huge for the cutscenes so much better now. Again huge thanks jackfuste |
Are the cutscenes set to work at a specific resolution? I can't get them to work in surround (7680x1440). Do you follow the instructions in the first patch/fov.exe first, then the second fix for cutscenes after replacing the one .dll file inthe instructions? Or do you skip the first patch altogether and and just use the second one because it contains both fixes? I've tried both methods and still the cutscenes only show in the center screen. Based on the description you should have full 21:9 cutscenes, right? What's the proper procedure to get them to work correctly? The FOV fix works great, but the other hasn't yet. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but I can't tell what it is... |

OMW, I just got the response from Ubisoft to my support ticket request.
They indeed suggest (summarised): "Turn off your outside two screens. Then the FOV slider will work." I enquired about getting banned from multiplayer for using the fix found here. Will report back when they answer. |
Yea, I got nearly the same answer... BTW, it's not a good idea to call attention to the fact that this fix exists? They're never going to officially support a third party hack/fix or give you a "free pass" to use it, so there nothing to be gained by calling their attention to it. If you're worried about getting banned you shouldn't use it, rather than calling attention to the fact that other people are doing so... |

Thx again @jackfuste, i want to show a way to disable anticheat directly in the engine "FC_m64.dll". So no need to modified anticheat.dll anymore.

So all we have todo, is patch the function out by placing mov al,1 retn at beginning. Here's the responses I have received from Ubisoft so far:
XXXXXX March 28, 2018 6:33 PM FOV is locked to 60 when using nVidia Surround. The FOV slider is greyed out as soon as multi monitor surround resolution is selected. The camera is stuck zoomed in so far that it makes you sick and dizzy to look at it. The game is completely broken trying to play with multiple monitors while this bug is present. Please fix it as this looks to be an awesome title otherwise. Thanks, XXXXXX. DOCUMENTS DxDiag.txt MSinfo32.nfo ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Amelie C @ Ubisoft Support April 05, 2018 7:58 PM Hello XXXXXX, Thank you for contacting Ubisoft Customer Support. I am sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue! I see you only have one GPU enabled for the game. I would recommend trying only 1 monitor at the moment. It would be best to use one GPU per monitor for the best performance. If this does not improve your field of vision, please let us know and we will continue to troubleshoot! Thank you for your patience and assistance. Best, Amelie ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- XXXXXX April 06, 2018 12:48 AM Dear Ubisoft, I think your technical support email support system has been compromised. This is all i can assume judging from the ludicrous response that I received from a Ubisoft email address earlier today. Please pass my support request to a higher tier of technical expertise that can at least manage to keep their email system secure so I don't receive any more 'troll' technical impersonation advice. Once again, the FOV slider is LOCKED (greyed out) when using a tripple monitor setup (this is when the FOV slider is most needed). The game is being played on a fully water cooled enthusiast level rig with both CPU and GPU overclocked. The system is built for immersion and using only one monitor is not a suitable option to enjoy such a beautiful game on. Please get back to me if this response makes it to an actual Ubisoft representative and not some random ill educated internet support troll. Sincerely, XXXXXX. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Amelie C @ Ubisoft Support April 06, 2018 1:54 PM Hello XXXXXX, Thank you for your message. The game is not meant to be played with an overclocked GPU and a 3 monitor setup. This is most likely the cause of the issue you are experiencing. If you would rather not use one monitor, I recommend at least going down to two. If this does not improve your field of vision, please let us know and we will continue to troubleshoot. Thank you again for your patience and understanding. Best, Amelie ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- XXXXXX April 06, 2018 6:14 PM Dear Amelie C, You are providing no technical assistance whatsoever. Have you tried to load Far Cry 5 and chosen a surround resolution? The game actually has this support built into it. The menu system actually lets you choose which monitor you would like the UI to be on. The people who developed it actually let you choose nVidia Surround in the menu system. This game runs very well with nVidia Surround. The FOV slider becomes locked at this point and locks the FOV to 60. This is actually a bug as no person in the right mind would try to play a surround resolution at 60 FOV! You could easily forward this to a higher level of technical support or as a development bug to be looked into, but instead you choose to tell me to play it on less monitors. My GPU is not meant to play this game because it is overclocked you say! It is not meant for 3 monitors even though support for 3 monitors is built right in you say! Are you for real? Stop trolling me and pass this on to someone who will take this issue seriously. I'll be sure to post this to the many forums complaining about this exact same issue for the masses to see how ridiculous it can be trying to get help from the front line technical support at Ubisoft. Thanks, XXXXXX. |

Oh. My. Word. (Another word is more appropriate than "word" there.) I can barely believe what I am reading. Surely that response must be sent to all the gaming magazines and all the review sites and some American lawyer with too much time on their hands must launch a misleading advertising case or something? I am flabbergasted. Anyway - in unrelated news, I am pretty near the end of the single player campaign (I think) playing at 7680 x 1440 on Ultra (THAT MEANS ON 3 MONITORS, if Ubisoft reads this) with an 89 Field of view at a stable 60FPS using Jackfurste's patch, and it looks glorious. Whether Ubisoft knows it or not, this game WAS designed for Surround/Eyefinity. How do we tell them?! |
Got a reply from Ricco at Ubisoft who was far more diplomatic than Catherine above. Will post full conversation later. (My email is not on my gaming computer.)
In short, "punishment" because of using the "hack" is done by a machine with no human intervention, so we are at risk when we start trying to play multi-player. Our problem has been forwarded to the devs but "they can't accpet suggestions from outside the company" on how to fix the game. Whatever that means, I did not feel insulted by the reply, just that they were not in a position to help, because we are in the minority and not a priority. |
Probably a stupid question, but is it still necessary to play in offline mode with this? Thanks |
@SubSonix
If u want to use a modified version of the "FC_m64.dll", in this case for the fov correction and the blackbars, u have to deal with EasyAntiCheat service, so u need to disable that in some way. So its on ur own risk if u do that, maybe its a good decision then, to play the game as most "offline" as possible. |
I thought your version did disable EAC? |
It does and works online/offline.

Thanks Zens, that looks promising. Anyone risked it with online play?
In the meantime: Here was my reply from Ubisoft: "Hello KRYGORIAN, Thank you for reaching Ubisoft Customer Support. My name is Ricco and I will be assisting you with your case. I understand that you have some feedback to offer regarding the issue that you had with your 3 screen configuration to play Far Cry 5. But I must advise you the the anti-cheat system may detect this alteration that you have done in your system, and you may be penalised for it. It is done automatically by the system. We do not endorse any code change in the games, unless done by our Developers Team. Regardless we love hearing ideas directly from gamers and appreciate the support from fans like you, although we cannot accept or consider creative ideas from outside the company for legal reasons, but we definitely still want your feedback. I would also recommend that you post your suggestions and feedback on our forums pages to ensure your feedback receives as much exposure as possible. The Community Managers and Developers are always monitoring the forum pages to observe the Community opinions and reactions. The Community Managers would really like to hear comments such as this so they can show the company an accurate representation of the community. Official Ubisoft Forum: https://forums.ubi.com/forumdisplay.php/1579-Far-Cry-5 Improvements and adjustments are being made all the time, so you may see these changes in the future. Rest assured, I will forward your comment to the proper department so hopefully there may be an improvement for this issue in the future. I hope that answers your questions. Please feel free to contact me if you need any further information. Kind Regards, Ricco Ubisoft Customer Support" So guys and girls, remember: NO CREATIVE IDEAS TO UBISOFT. They might get into trouble for LEGAL REASONS. Let us hope that "multi-monitor support" is not a creative idea, or we are doomed. |

I ran into an odd problem running FC_Unlock_FOV_v4 -- With the mod installed, turning my character results in a huge delay. After restoring the original files, it goes back to normal and I can turn my character without any hiccup. Pretty weird.

Well i have to correct me, campaign works (coop i didnt tested), for the multiplayer lobby (exmp. TDM) u just will not get connected to other players. Don`t see a big risk getting banned but sometimes shit just happend. |
Is someone having problem with the cutscenes and the view from the binoculars? The image is terribly out of proportion.
@Meme - you are doing something wrong. Besides the "black bars" on the outer screens, the binoculars work fine.
Besides, they are binoculars. That is how they work. You can't see out the sides! I played 4 games of multi-player last night. WOW so much of fun. Kinda a mixture of Counterstrike meets Battlefield 2 but with a decent respawn time. Enjoyed it immensely and didn't get banned. (Of course I was always either worst or second worst in my team, so nobody would have accused me of cheating. I blame the lag. I am in Africa and the servers are... elsewhere, apparently.) |

Hey zens. I appreciate your efforts. Could you please upload this file to a non-sketchy website? The website you linked waits about 5 seconds, then attempts to redirect you to another website that exhibits malware-type behavior. I use Eset Smart Security and it just flat out banned the website and identified several files in the redirect website that were malware (such as the favicon). To be clear, the file you uploaded is not what is being flagged for malware, or even the website anonfile.com itself, but the website it redirects to. EDIT: I was able to get past the page redirects and download the file. I scanned it with my AV and it came up clean. I used the file in game and now my game's FOV is fixed without messing with the anticheat dll. Thanks! |

I have applied all the uploaded fixes, is the main menu and cutscenes supposed to be 16:9? because I don't see any changes in this regard

I tried the game, FOV is totally fine when using a single 21:9 screen. But the cutscenes are in 16:9, is there an easy way to fix those without having to lose the whole online part of the game? I am not sure the answer is in this thread.

FC5 fov unlock was working perfectly, I'm nearly finished with the game... and Ubi updated to 1.05 and now its broken again.
Amazing work on the previous fix, worked absolutely fine for me playing ubi/offline. Tried the old fix on the new .dll and they've changed something apparently because the game won't launch after patching without restoring the previous .dll and having FOV locked at 60 again.... When will these companies learn. |

So the fov hex fix does work wonderful, thanks!
The aspect ratio hex fix for cut scenes does not, nor does the menu change size (maybe there is no fix for that). I have 5 screens in a 2-way-SLI configuration, but only the three screens on the main GPU shows the cut scenes. I've seen problems with playback of videos between GPU's before, both Google Chrome and Firefox seem to suffer from it since a couple of releases back (however Microsoft Edge seem to handle it). However when enabling subtitles it seems that some of them are rendered below and outside of the display areas, sugesting that the video is croped. Anyone else here with a multi-gpu and 3+ screen setup that can share their experiece with these patches? Intro scene: Cut scene: |

Excellent, thank you Jack. Any chance the fix the water clipping issue? Don't know if someone noticed, but the water keeps disappearing when the FoV is somewhat high.

hello again! i'd hate to be 'that guy' to ask again, but could you possibly get an updated fov fix for us? i didn't play for a month or so and i come back and found there's been two or so patches again. hugely appreciated either way! (would be nice if ubisoft would just allow us to adjust this setting without having to patch anything) thank you

Hi czarman! I tried to update the HEX for the cutscene aspect ratio fix per your instructions using HxD ( OFFSET 3F867A0 look for 00 00 10 41 and change it to 00 00 40 40) but I'm not able to find OFFSET 3F867A0 anywhere; there are multiple instances of 00 00 10 41 to change in the FC_m64.dll file, but no corresponding OFFSET 3F867A0. ![]() Thanks! |

Yes but if the Game got updated the Offsets Number change
It should be close by the Hex String 39 8E E3 3F see the screenshot. But i never really played this Game and i remember that someone said that this hex change created also some other problems.... |

They have updated Far Cry 5 again. Mine says version 1.013 now. And of course the fov is fixed at 60 again. Is there a fix for this? Or perhaps a way to get the game back to 1.011?
Thanks! |

I seemed to have fixed my own issue.
I used a hex editor to alter the dll file as per the instructions. The one line of code that I could not find was this one. 00 00 B8 78 00 00 00 C3 => 00 00 B8 60 01 00 00 C3 (unlock fov in-game) I ignored the first four zeros and searched again. That did the trick. Hope this helps some people. |

Hey Jackfuste, awesome work on these all fixes, but could you pls give me/us the fix for the fov slider in the latest version of Far Cry 5 for surround gameplay?
