Will we even see resilient 5x1p CF/EF support before the 7000 series (still in the hardware optimization stage)? I find myself actually hoping that they've been working on this stuff behind the scenes in a large segregated Southern Island driver development team while the 5000 series had a few obvio...

Definitely consider the Dell U2311H, which is on sale via a Dell Small Business coupon for $240 (& U2211H @ $224). I'm not sure why you'd go with the U2410, the EA231WMi, or the ZR22w / ZR24w while these are so cheap. When the coupon expires it will be a lot closer call w/ the U2211H vs ZR22w, but t...

This is somewhat confusing. I take it that what was "posted earlier today" was the May 27 file, but what is the difference between the 10.6 entries? - Version 10.6 (8.741) Beta2 - 8.741.0.0000 May 27 2010 2000/XP files 100MB, Vista/Seven files unavailable - Version 10.6 (8.740) WHQL - 8.740.0.0000) ...

A) Will 'Northern Islands' hardware eventually be capable of PCIE 3.0, or is that known? PCIE 3.0's bandwidth would likely make Tri/Quadfire+Eyefinity a lot more practical. B) Was the 'Lightweight Notification' spec AMD added to PCIE 3.0 intended (in part) to be useful for Crossfire, in order for gr...

5x1 is not currently supported. 6x1 is currently supported. The limit of 8K in any dimension must be adhered to independently of the monitor configuration. You would think we would support any arbitrary nx1 configuration, yet we don't at this time. That will come later. With all due respect, why no...

Let me just say that I hate it when other sites break NDA, or get news leaked from someone who broke NDA. Makes it look like the WSGF isn't getting the information that is out there, when in reality we are honoring the NDA and relationship with ATI... A private secrecy contract is not a resilient s...

Of course, the proof of this concept is in the pudding, namely how fast ATI can release profiles for new games after they hit retail shelves. If they can't release these profiles within a day or so of a new game hitting user's hard drives then the old complaints about driver support will continue, t...

A) People prefer not to use wide-gamut displays like the ones you listed. B) People have noted special quality concerns regarding tinted or otherwise malfunctioning displays based on the panel in the Dell U2410 and the HP LP2475w. I would read a hundred pages of forum feedback on these and see if yo...

The way it sounds from several posts is that ATI Catalyst is practicing good old-fashioned stable/beta release cycles and using the wrong term. Every month, a 'stable' driver is released. Every month, an 'unstable' driver is released alongside it. It represents an engineering-grade prototype of what...

I doubt that this is an electrical problem. It sounds like an overheating component which cools down to tolerable levels when allowed fresh air.
Could you post a picture of your setup or at least tell if the videocard cooling fan is obstructed at all? |

The question is whether it can be done in software/drivers: jeremyshaw The next step of Eyefinity games should be: Lower quality settings for the flanking monitors. | I'm looking at this image from an LCD projector build-log and contemplating Eyefinity. Once rectified and scaled, Photoshop tells me that this 17" stripped laptop monitor appears to have internal bezels of 0.19" on the right, 0.10" on the top, 0.11" on the left, and 0.21" on the bottom of the screen... |
