Definitely consider the Dell U2311H, which is on sale via a Dell Small Business coupon for $240 (& U2211H @ $224). 5x1 is not currently supported. 6x1 is currently supported. The limit of 8K in any dimension must be adhered to independently of the monitor configuration.

You would think we would support any arbitrary nx1 configuration, yet we don't at this time. That will come later.

I doubt that this is an electrical problem. It sounds like an overheating component which cools down to tolerable levels when allowed fresh air.

Could you post a picture of your setup or at least tell if the videocard cooling fan is obstructed at all?
