Widescreen Gaming Forum

Tweak Guides just put up thier guide for the UT3 beta demo. On page 5 they note;

"Note: UT3 does not have 'proper' widescreen support at the moment, see here for more details."

Well, at least that's a little more exposure for the wide screen issue.

Well, at least this thread in the Epic Demo feedback forum is still alive. Maybe there's some hope.

I know the direction that the gaming companies would like to go in, but hopefully there will still be games such as Doom, F.E.A.R. and Half-Life 2 that expect the game to do well so that they could make more $$ out of ...

No one from Epic has commented on the question, (at least not as far as I have seen). Only the members have said; "UT2004 supported true widescreen, UT3 will as well."

What concerned me is how quick the questions were deleted from the forums.

Well, maybe we'll get our chance to have an official answer "from on high".

Ya know, the more I think about it, the more I believe that the Mods over at the UT3 forum are just gun shy of another fracas similar to what transpired in the Bioshock forums. The whole vertical+ thing rather exploded and made quite some noise.

There's something I really do not understand, why is there so much resistance to how UT2004, Half-Life and other games have utilized wide screen formats?

OK, finally get my name straightened out! Every once in a while Firefox just get confused on the character encoding.

Anyway, what the heck is Epic thinking?!? Are they seriously thinking that the vertical view is better? Or do they just not want the discussion on their forums?
