Hi all I wanted to update this thread. It appears the topic on Ubisoft's Splinter Cell forums on how to unlock the framerate on Chaos Theory's versus mode kind of disappeared. Luckily, I have the file that allows you to do it. This file is simply a ZIP with an INF file inside. This INF file installs...

I had just played online in 1920x1200 mode when I made that last post, so I don't know what you mean by "anything above 1024x768 does not work correctly in MP." I said that in the first part of the sentence: For some reason one of the players will automatically get set to 640x480 when the game star...

I just tested this online, and it's definitely possible to play online with a custom widescreen resolution. But when hosting a game, there is an option to limit screen resolution, and if you try to join a game where the host has set a max resolution limit, then you will have to use that one. This o...

Are you sure it's not from back when you had the widescreen crack applied? (don't know if you did or not). Because when I applied the v1.05 patch, I still had my cracked resolution available until I deleted my old files.

Vegas has been a shoddy attempt at a Rainbow Six game from the beginning. Aside from that, I'm speechless about this new "widescreen" patch. Look in my screenshot - I only get one widescreen resolution. I'm running a 16:10 display that is capable of all 16:9 and 16:10 resolutions up to 1920x1200. ED...

Well why would ward1e post it if we can't use it? Maybe he tested it on an earlier version of the game which wouldn't make sense, because the most recent patch was released well before he posted about it.

I just tried using the Xbox widescreen files, and it didn't work... at all. I was using v1.02 (Released before this thread was made, i assume it works with this version) and let me show you guys a screenshot: (Click to enlarge). As you can see, it shows a sword as the silencer, and all other HUD ele...

Just out of curiosity, does the multiplayer chat / death message text look any different? It would be nice if using the widescreen Xbox HUD it might be smaller, or moved to the sides... because normally it's very distracting.

Yeah, I remember playing GRAW on my X800XL 256MB and it was pretty bad... and I hear at times this game performs worse. So I can also understand why people are complaining!

Just a question, does anyone here notice the difference between having Blur quality on Low vs. High?

That's with everything in the video options ingame turned to OFF. How did Jazza make his look even less shiny? I want to try that out to see if i can increase my fps any more. Well, he probably looked at the R6: Vegas Optimization Thread in the offical Ubi forums and turned some of the bult-in effe...

Hehe, Black Hawk down is one of my favorite games :) but unfortunatley, i don't think it's possible to run the game in wdescreen at all  . I've wondered the same thing for a long time, but the config file (dfv.cfg in the BHD directory) only has preset 4:3 resolutions and entering a widescreen v...

What effects were you talking about that doesn't run on the 8800 series sometimes, Paddy? I don't think anything's missing on my end... although I haven't seen that glass refraction before. Maybe in only in singleplayer story mode! Oh, and just curios, what temp. does one of your 8800's typically id...

Yes, the refraction looks very nice (Although, I have not seen it on my PC... strange). And thanks for the surround screenshots! I have to admit this game is very detailed, and a blast to play! I finally found it at EB games two days ago, and I think i've had as much fun playing it as you Paddy! :) ...

I'm laying prone and toss a rock on the other side of a hut... the enemies come right at me. The textures always black out on the terrain. I'm running a 2.4ghz AMD, 2 gb ram, 7800gtx and I can't get the damn textures to work right. Try throwing the rocks a bit further ;) And, what patch are you usi...

Okay, I tested out Widescreen. If you edit the Default.ini file, under X:Splinter Cell Chaos TheoryVersusSystem, you can run any resolution you want, until you login. I found the lines: FullscreenViewportX= FullscreenViewportY= then I change the X and Y values to fit the resolution I wanted. I used ...

Well, for a 24" monitor it's alot of pixels... which is not good (like 50 dead pixels or something of the like) but I wouldn't be concerned about that too much. I have yet to buy a new LCD with a dead pixel!

@ Cornflake ... Yeah ... I did get it going with AA ... but it disables the shadows which I don't like. I also found changing the resolution from 1920x1200 to 1680x1050 didn't make much difference to the FPS. The best way to improve FPS was lowering the shadow quality which doesn't look so bad. By ...

Well, the Versus mode is kind of strange for the game. First of all, it's locked by default at 30FPS -- go to This Thread at the Chaos Theory forums to figure out how to unlock your framerate if it feels slow to you. I actually helped figure out how to do that during the summer for the thread (I'm C...

Hi, :welcome . Let's see if I can help answer some of your questions: 1. Well, that monitor has an 8ms response time (basically a measurment of "Ghosting") and that's pretty good. You shouldn't run into no major problems with gaming... and the Master Games List can help you lookup games to see if th...
