Re: I need advice.
I just read about this product (link:http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/3677/startech_convergeav_triple_head_displayport_to_dvi_multi_monitor_adapter/index2.html) where a single DP outputs to 3 DVI (max 1280x1024). So, I wonder if an Eyefinity 6 card, with its 6 mini DPs, can use 6 of these to output ...

Re: WSGF Review of the AMD Radeon HD 6870 & HD 6850
Good review!
For the setup, a reference 6870 was connected to 3 x Dell U2211H (which has a DVI, a DP and a VGA input)
May I ask which 3 outputs of the 6870 were used to connect to the U2211H (and what inputs were used respectively)?
Thank you.

What are ''intermediate resolutions''? (ATI Eyefinity FAQ)
Q1: What exactly are those ''intermediate resolutions'' mentioned in the FAQ?
Say, if the 3 monitors have 1920x1080 as native, what other resolutions can be used for a 3x1 Eyefinity Group? It is plural and so it is more than one.

Eyefinity and Multi-mon questions
1. One requirement of Eyefinity is that one of the 3 monitors has to have a DP input. Can this requirement be bypassed by using an Active DP adapter (eg using such an adapter to connect the DP output of the card to HDMI/VGA input of a monitor) ?

Very concerned about the performance of the GTX295
In addition to possible engine limitation as mentioned above, I throw in 2 more wild thoughts for you to investigate.
One is the possibility that at 1680 x 1050 (a relatively 'low' resolution for the GTX295), your CPU becomes the bottleneck?
Two is that the GTX295 might not be set up properly ...

1 side note: Stock hsf is good enough if you wont overclock. But since you said you will do some mild overclocking, I suggest you to get a mid range 3rd party hsf (eg Cooler Master N520/620). For serious overclocking, Thermalrigt 120 Extreme or CM V8 is a must.

Have you checked the CD that came with your Samsung monitor? It may contain some useful utility for your to adjust the resolution? It has been ages since I dealt with a Samsung monitor but Samsung seems to have something called Safe Mode for downscaling a 4:3 1600x1200 video signal to match the ...

Time for new video card yet?
Of the 3 cards in your list, only the GTX295 is a worthy upgrade. Two 8800GTXs beat a single 9800GTX+ easily and are more or less on par with a single GTX285, but are no match with a single GTX295. So, if you want to upgrade now, go with the GTX295. Actually a single GTX295 might be the highest that ...

HAF932 and Antec 1200 are both good cases. You wont go wrong with either one. Another one worthy of consideration is Cooler Master's ATCS 840.

TH2G ... extra peripheral view thus more immersion.
42" ... no extra peripheral view thus no more immersion.
I think it depends on how one defines what immersion is.

IMO, if you are not doing SLI (now or in the near future), maybe it is better to ditch the 790i Ultra SLI board and get an upper end P45 motherboard (eg Asus P5Q Deluxe for DDR2 or Asus P5Q3 Deluxe if you really like DDR3) which roughly costs half of the Striker II Extreme.

I guess I will continue on with 1.5.04 and see how far I can go. If I cant make it, I will stop playing this game and maybe wait out for a few months before patching up to whatever the latest patch at that time and start all over.

Let me make an off-topic comment first.
TH2Go does not necessarily go against large screen HDTV. "vs" is not the only option. The two can go along well with each other. In other words, you can have the best of both worlds if you use three large screen HDTVs with a TH2Go device. :D

I just got out of Swamps and into Cordon and so I am still early in the game.
