My Widescreen LCD died about 7 months ago and My gaming rig died several months ago, ironically the day after I actually bought the Command and Conquer 3 Expansion Pack which was 3 days after I moved. So then I sold my WoW account for $625 and bought a 360 and switched to console gaming.

What do you define as 'mainstream' then? What consoles do you define it by? Even Square said X-2 was the first direct sequel they'd done in the FF universe.

The widescreen emulation is only viable for games that don't have any pre-rendered backgrounds as those are only designed for fullscreen.
