If I'm not mistaken you can only use 2 displays when using SLI (i.e only the main card's outputs).Actually, if you don't have Windows 7 you can only use a single output of the four available when SLI is disabled. Windows 7 finally gives the ability to drive dual monitors in SLI mode.

Out of curiosity, what happens when you send 1680x1050 through the TripleHead2Go? Does it just duplicate the same image across all three screens, or does it stop sending a signal to the left and right monitor?
The latter would be preferable, as it would cause most monitors to automatically ...

Holy crap, you guys are really giving Matrox and Ati a run for their money. I never thought of doing that, that's beast as hell.1. This 3x2 display is basically giving you a large monitor at an aspect ratio similar to a single widescreen display. It's physically a lot larger, but there is a bezel ...

Leapo,
That's exactly what I do. My third output is via an 8400GS. It works very well.

does the monitors have to have dvi inputs or can i connect the th2go to the agp inputs with dvi adaptors to the monitors? You mean VGA inputs (not AGP), but yes, you can connect the TripleHead2Go Digital Edition's DVI outputs to VGA inputs. The TripleHead2Go outputs are DVI-D, which means that they ...

If you are going to upgrade a 4770 it would be prudent to sell the TripleHead2Go, buy the fastest 5000-series ATI GPU plus DP-to-DVI adapter/converter you can afford, and make the switch to EyeFinity.

Re: How is eyefinity for work? (anything other than games)
Basically, I want to know if windows will treat each monitor separately or if it treats them all as one. Window management would be a huge pain if it all acts as one monitor.Discussed here:

Re: Hmmmm...
Can someone explain to me why the following setup doesn't work:Sure. The 5000-series ATI GPUs have only two "legacy" (i.e. DVI, HDMI, VGA) clock generators. For these types of connections a dedicated clock signal is required for images to display on your monitor. The hardware is set up so that ...

Eyefinity questions
Thanks for all the answers. The 5870 (six) looks interesting. <-- when does this come out? This will work for MSFS only. If you want to do something similar for almost any other title it will not work.
For cost reasons, can I:
Install a 5850 in the primary PCI-e slot and run 3 monitors (for say out-the-window visual scene for FSX)
Install a lesser ATI card in the secondary PCI-e slot to run a fourth monitor for instruments only?
Or will that ruin the able to run Eyefinity?

you can get like a 42" HDTV for like $600 these daysYeah, a 720p TV, not a 1080p TV. That means your giant screen has a resolution of 1280x720, which is not a lot of pixels if you are using it as a computer monitor.

I'm still skeptical that there are flight sims out there that can make use of 5 screens worth of FOV without horrible edge distortion, but this is all very cool nonetheless.
