got mine running in 1920 x 1200 now, also changed the field of view by entering in the console G_fov 110.

Go into Display Properties, Settings, Advanced, Options and uncheck the "Alternative DVI Operational Mode" and your freaky shimmering will be gone.
Same happened to me when I first booted up with it but it's just a simple setting in the options.

Sorry I'm somewhat new to widescreen so I have a few questions, First of all what is native wide screen? and how does it differ to normal widescreen.

Also the games in the compatable out of the box list does that refer to (full screen) - wide screen or just (windowed) wide screen.
