Myst 4: Uru

Just to update everyone on my WideScreen URU.

Unfortunately I have decided not to run the game in widescreen format, as I have tried the patch for URU that was posted in this forum and the image is definitely stretched and looks a little weird to me.

So I've left it at a default full ...

Doom 3 Discussion

I have added the custom resolution of 960x600, which is a standard 16:10 ratio on my WSXGA+ screen which supports native res of 1680x1050.

When I set that res, then I get this weird thing where I can scroll left and right when I move the mouse to the side of the screens. You know, when you've ...

FullScreen but with Black Bars

I have got a Voodoo Envy m780. It has a 17" widescreen LCD with a 16:10 ratio. The LCD supports native resolution of 1680x1050. I have tried 1280x800, but the game plays a little too jerky for my liking. If I set it to 960x600, then it scrolls left and right, as if you've set the resolution too high ...

Re: Not true widescreen; this only stretched the video...

Unfortunately when you start Uru, the initial dialog box that pops up won't accept your new resolution and will revert all your graphic settings back to defaults. To get around this, I've figured out how to bypass this dialog altogether and get right into the game. So, after you modify your ...

Myst 4: Uru

I don't think so.

URU is a real-time 3D game. The rest of the series is not, there is no way to "hack" the resolution, because there is no resolution to choose from initially. The resolutions in Myst/Riven/Exile are fixed at one resolution.

There could be a hack for realMyst as that's a ...

Myst 4: Uru

Great to hear that it work.

But it looks like what you are saying...is that it actually cuts the tops and bottom off of the rendering??

So in fact you are getting less of the actual rendering?

Some pictures would be nice!! Some pics of a scene on a normal monitor, and then a pic of ...

Myst 4: Uru

Thank you so much for this post.

I have been looking for a hack or something for Uru.

I will be getting my new laptop in July and wanted to play Uru on it, but the laptop has a 17" widescreen LCD supporting 1680x1050, and I didn't want the black bars on the left and right hand side.

I ...
