Hi Guys,
need a 21:9 fix for this brillant game!
Hex code (39 8E E3 3F to 8A E3 18 40) did not work for me.

I've spent quite a lot of time on it and managed to reach the right aspect ratio and get rid of the pillarboxing.
I turned my findings into patchers for the most common resolutions. Download them
here.
The game PCGW
article I've contributed to may also be of value to anyone interested in how the game supports other hardware, how to disable the vsync and so forth.
Edit: The old instructions are no longer relevant. I got the FOV to be on par with 16:9 at
all scenes - no more blurred out parts in the shower.

Hi,
after playing until the parc-scene with Shawn the game occurs a bug. Shawn did not move after the boomerang turn. Shawn only stand by side the bank. The game hangs. After copying the old (saved-) .exe the game runs further- Shawn is going to the seesaw but only in Widescreen (with blackbars) and not in Ultrawidescreen... Any suggestions for solution?

That would be really strange, considering that none of the changes affect any aspects of the game but the AR and FOV.
Are you sure you didn't have vsync disabled through the config?
Can you share your saved games data found in %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\HeavyRainNS\ and tell me which part to load?

The Level called "The park".
There are timeouts after each download from the website. You should pack the whole folder into an archive, then upload it to something like

Adjusted the instructions and reuploaded each patcher. Remove the patched exe and replace it with the backup (.bak) or verify the game files to have the launcher download the original. Then patch with one of the updated patchers, or you can just manually undo the hex changes and follow the instructions again.

Hi, first I used your patcher for 3440x1440 but the screen was not "centered". So I made the steps you mentioned in your first contribution with the original exe again:
Look for 38 8E E3 3F and replace it with your AR, such as 26 B4 17 40 for 2560x1080.
Then look for 00 00 10 41 00 00 20 41 00 00 50 and replace with 00 00 D8 40 00 00 20 41 00 00 50 for 2560x1080, BD 52 D6 40 00 00 20 41 00 00 50 for 3440x1440 or 00 00 90 40 00 00 20 41 00 00 50 for 32:9.
This results in vertically centered vert- image, no pillarboxing.
Then the way to go is to adjust the FOV to compensate but I've yet to fully figure out the calculations.
You can look for F3 0F 11 87 04 01 00 00 48 8B 8E and change it to F3 0F 11 87 03 01 00 00 48 8B 8E but the zoom-in views such as when you're inspecting an object will have too much FOV this way.
Searching for these bytes in Cheat Engine and disassembling will let you follow the calculations and see if you can figure out something better. This goes for the demo as well.
And after starting the Park Shaun moved. The game doesn´t hang again for now. I am glad. Maybe I made a mistake first time. Don´t now. But MrKillerHomer mentioned a similar problem. Hope the game runs now to the end without hanging or s.t.
Greetings to all.

That's the best part of the FOV adjustment side effects!

Console players would never get to see this gem.

I updated the patchers to fix the FOV issue!
This should achieve nearly perfect hor+ support akin to native.
