3072 x 768??

Post by Guest »

Hello,

Long time lurker...1st time poster lol.

Just moved up to 3 monitors from 2. I had tried to enable surround and when I do, I get a resolution of 3072 x 768. I thought maybe if i made my center monitor 1920 x 1080 like the 2 flanking and just did the math, i could just make a custom resolution and use that.

Turns out, that's not the case lol.

My monitor setup is 1920 x 1080(60Hz), 2560 x 1440(Gsync, 144Hz), 1920 x 1080(60Hz). I realize this isn't optimal for 3 screen gaming, but 1440 ain't cheap!

I did check the games database and used dirt3 to see if there was a custom resolution in the game itself. There wasn't lol.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

My Rig:
2x GTX 970 (WC)
Asus Maximus 5
16GB Corsair Vengeance
4690k

Hi.
Nvidia Surround does not support Mixed Resolution. All Monitors Need the same resolution and sync polarity.
With AMD you could do that. Buth both dont support Eyefinity/Surround with Custom Resolutions. They simply dissapear when surround is Started.
We gonna send it to outa space!

Surround wants nothing to do with custom res's, but there may be a workaround. Using CRU you can "force" Surround to acknowledge the existence of 1920x1080 on your center monitor thus enabling 5760x1080. However like Haldi said there are more settings involved in a display mode than res & hz, so success is not guaranteed.
