Batman: Akrham Knight - The Fhack Did They Do To 21:9 ?!

Post by TheWitcher »

This game...is utterly disappointing. Anything over 1920x1080p gets stretched cutscene wise....and in the game environments get stretched...everything is wrong...just very...VERY wrong.

Can anyone...fix this god damn mess by Iron Galaxy Inept Studios and Rockunsteady?

I have heard only bad things about this port. The internet is ripping them to shreds.

Hopefully they will get a patch out soon.

Well I figured out part of the problem was my "Scaling" but at 21:9 the cutscenes look stretched to dear life....I'm guessing the cutscenes aren't in-engine? It's similar to THE WITCHER 3....all cutscens in 16:9...

Yeah, this game has some serious aspect ratio and FOV issues. Here is a small example of the aspect ratio changing from 21:9 to stretched 16:9 in game. https://youtu.be/B3BjyvbXgJc All in game cutscene do this as well and it is very jarring. The fov hotkey fix for the previous Batman games works but it is not ideal as it completely jacks up the cutscenes. Not sure about multi monitor setups, but if you are a 21:9 monitor user....stay away from this until a proper fix releases.

I highly recommend no one purchase this...even if there's $10 at stake...it's awful..it has no 21:9 support....and with a bit of smoke effects from the Batmobile - the FPS drops to 5-10 frames per second on my GTX Titan X....it's a true nightmare.

Can't purchase it anymore, Warner Brothers pulled the game from steam while they fix it.

How is this game after the re-release ?
I'm kinda interested in picking it up but I'd like to know if the issues with 21:9 are fixed 1st.

Edit: according to this video most of the issues with 21:9 have been resolved https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdJ51TQdEVY

I'm curious as well. How is this game as far as nVidia Surround and SLI goes? Good SLI profile? Proper surround support?

How does the game run overall compared to Arkham Origins?

I've sincerely enjoyed the previous 2 Batman games in Surround, but I've stayed far far away from this steaming pile of garbage. I just don't understand how after two successful releases and on the same engine they can go from "Excellent" to "pulled from Steam". Its baffling.

I decided to get the game and it runs good. (you can get it cheap from a few cd key store, I got it for 22$ CAD)
At 3440*1440 I got ~45 fps with medium setting (without any nvidia option) but I still get the occasional stutter since 3gb of vram is not enough for medium it says it would need ~3.3gb of vram in the game setting (they show you how much ram your setting will take in the graphic option menu).
Low texture would need ~2.2gb ram.
The game will also eat up over 6gb of system ram so if you only have 8gb it could be a problem.

As far as 21:9 aspect ratio there is no issue except the occasional cut scene that is in 16:9. The cut scenes that are generated by the game engine are in 21:9.

I've only played 4 hours but so far the game is great.

My specs:
3570k at 4.5ghz
780ti at 1250mhz
16gb ddr3 1600 ram

Currently putting together a video for this. For 3440x1440 I found it to work very well, no fiddling or ini tweaks need and no stretching for UI. Can't comment on SLI support but it ran pretty well in my playthrough with a 980.
