DayZ Standalone [2013] Early Access

Hello all,
I am reporting in on DayZ Standalone [2013] Early Access. You have the ability to adjust Field of View and change the resolution. However I was unable to select 5760x1080 ingame. I had to change it by the configure file first and then it updated ingame accordingly. Also, you might want to change the interface’s aspect ratio through ingame menu, "Triple Head". You do have the option to choose Windowed Borderless Mode I believe or you can change it by the configure file you see below.

Please see the above for my configuration. For FPS & fullscreen mode, 60fps in the forest and 15fps to 25fps in the city. [DISABLE Edge Smoothing!] For FPS & windows mode, 30fps in the forest and 11fps to 15fps in the city. [DISABLE Edge Smoothing!] These FPS seem really low, and they are however it's completely playable at this moment. We just have to wait for the game to be optimize for our systems. The only problem I have notice is zooming in does cause a slow down in FPS ONLY when the zoom in animation is taking place in the city, which takes about half a second to maybe a full second. However this doesn't register with MSI afterburner.

Actually in the last screenshot, you can see the HUD, the only HUD there is at this moment. It's the red text in the left bottom middle screen, by the chair. It will tell you when you are hungry, or thirsty, or bleeding, or etc. Please see the next screenshot.

just to add and let people know 21:9 not working as the aspect ratio cannot be adjusted as far as my knowledge so everything looks squashed and its unplayable in 2560x1080 posted on the official dayz forum but some dude replied telling me to downscale my res. (lame) anyone know of any fixes for the aspect ratio tried adding the lines (fovTop=0.75; fovLeft=1.7777778;) but without any luck.

Res 2560x11080
21:9

I know 2560x1080 works fine in the other Real Virtuality engine products, so it could be DayZ specific, but lets make sure you are editing the correct profile config.

You should not have to add fovTop and fovLeft, they are there. For win7 it'll be in c:\Users\{username}\My Documents\DayZ Other Profiles\{profile name}\ in a file named {profile name}.DayZProfile .

fovTop is the vertical FOV aspect ratio from top to bottom, fovLeft is horizontal left to right. Your values are correct. If you run another resolution, a quick and dirty way of finding the values is to leave fovTop at .75, and take that multiply it by your 'x' res, divide by your 'y' res.

I run 3840x1024 so my RV engine based configs look like
fovTop=0.75;
fovLeft=2.8125;

I'm haven't looked into what the DayZ FOV slider edits, but in games like arma 1,2 and 3 to reduce the FOV I would change fovTop to .65, making fovLeft 2.4375 (.65 x 3840 / 1024).

Also with 2560x1080, you might need to make sure that triplehead=0. I can't recall if somone I know that recently went to 2560x1080 had to change that, but it affects the HUD scaling and is meant to keep it centered for triplehead users.

I have included a new guide on optimizing DayZ. The new patch has destroyed about 5 to 10 frames in the city for me. T.T
