Hi folks, I recently purchased 6 displays in order to create 2x3 display wall, however the catalyst doesn't support 2x3 (2 columns, 3 rows)..
However it's possible to create 3x2 grid with bezel compensation. I wonder if you ever tried 2x3 with bezel, if so how ?
Or is there any software, tweak that can manage 2x3 with bezel comp. ? I've been trying that for a while but no progress..Cheers for your comments!
Windows 7 - 64 bit ..6 Active DVI support.. Everything works except 2x3

Just to make it clear, I'm not gonna use this system for gaming. I'm looking for a solution from the technical perspective. Please vote up

2x3 i dont think is possible.......
easiest & best way is 3x3 (9 monitors) this is what i am doing now. Grab 3 Matrox TripleHead 2 Go Digital SE units.
Matrox TH2G part no; T2G-DP3D-IF, they are 300-350 AUD posted each. These SHOULD go to 1650x1080 x3 @60Hz.
Above this the Hz drops off, 1920x1080 x3 @50Hz (currently i am running 19" monitors but will be upgrading to 22" 1650x1080) You will have 3 rows in windows (screens) displaying 4950x1080 (if using 22" for example), then create an eyefinity group 1x3 to create a total screen of 4950x3240 (approx 16,000,000 pixels !!!)
bezel compensation can be done within the rows with the supplied matrox software and CCC (catalyst control center) should be able to do bezel comp between the "screens" and HAPPY DAYS (Although i have not done bezel comp yet too busy doing important things like killing enemies...LOL)

With 1x 7870 this would only be good for low intensity apps such as vlc or doing presentations...
I however have important business playing games, etc...... so i am running 2x 7970 in xfire with 19" lcds currently displaying 3840x3072. On farcry 3 blood dragon with high settings it is still very playable but not sure i am getting my 60+ fps... so may have to go tri fire in the near future (especially with 22" lcds)

Another option if you dont want to buy 3 more screens is using SoftTH but the application MUST use D3D or DirectX9 (Also make sure you have all the vb_redist updates x86 & 64 plus .NET frameworks updated). Just setup the screens (2x3 arrangement) with WINDOWS NOT CCC!!! and just try it ITS FREE AND AWESOME (I run my 15 monitor rig with it!).

ALSO A NOTE WITH AMD EYEFINITY MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A MINIMUM OF 4 ACTIVE ADAPTERS, I SPENT HEAPS OF TIME F*****ING AROUND WITH THIS. MAKE SURE THE ADAPTERS YOU BUY ARE ACTIVE, SALES PEOPLE WILL LIE BECAUSE THEY DONT KNOW BETTER. CHECK PART NUMBERS ONLINE TO BE SURE, OR GO TO REPUTABLE STORES.

You CAN have more as i am using 3 (2x th2g digital SE edition & 1x digital edition which are not compatible together)
The only problem is you cannot do bezel compensation like this. Im assuming even if i had 3x digital SE units the software (powerdesk) will only support 2 of them for things like bezel comp and higher resolutions.

Also navtie resolutions out of the box only goes up to 1360x768 x3 @60 (4080 x 768 @ 60) digital SE.
The T2G-D3D-IF digital edition will only go to 1280x1024 @60 (3840x1024 @60) digital SE supports this also.

There are more resolutions avalible but you need powerdesk to use them, they are in the specifications tab

There may be a firmware update for this but i dont think that will support higher resolutions.

PS- I was thinking of getting 9x cheap 32" led tv's around $250 each so 1360x768 would be ok for me.

Not Sure, but i tought using theseZotac miniDP to Dual HDMIadapters act as one big surface, so you could plug them and then create a 1x3 EF Setup.

I used 4x matrox triplehead + hd6870 (with 2x mdp port)
dvi dvi dp dp (dp via adapter
I got 3x4 and 6x2 wall

i made it only for one day for fun, dont remember resolution
I think it was 1280x800 each screen (16:10)

UPDATE:

Just a small status update regarding the Eyefinity with Radeon HD Series.

I've switched my system from Radeon HD Eyefinity Series(7870) to Radeon Firepro Series (W600).

According to AMD support & with some research; Even thou they have almost the same architecture, as well as 6 DVI output.
(Assuming it's a business decision), FirePro and Eyefinity has slightly different catalyst softwares.

"Firepro catalyst" supports all combination of display groups up to 6 displays (including 2x3 etc). That's not possible with "Eyefinity Catalyst"

Comparing Prices: AMD FirePro W600 : apprx. $ 500
AMD Radeon HD 7876 : apprx. $ 250

So it's twice the price of old 7876 just with a different catalyst software, which basically gives more control to the user.

My advice to some: if you have display groups less than 6, and gonna use the displays for home use or gaming..Then go with radeon Eyefinity, or similar brands. If it's for business and u really need proper display grouse supports 6 displays, then go with W600 or better. I used W600 and, happy about the performance.

Not to miss Catalyst software: Besides the additional display group options, and minor configuration features, Catalyst is still confusing and user non-friendly.

One of the crucial feature is "Bezel Compensation", right ? When you are adjusting your bezel, there's no feedback to user but the stupid triangle. It could have been great if there were some feedback about the numerical value of expected resolution after bezel. Another issue is that, lets say you have a display group with a bezel compensation. You save the settings (presets) so that if you change something in the future, u can always load your old settings. Well, that's not happening. If you are lucky, Catalyst will throw you the right resolution with the right bezel..otherwise u need to adjust everything all over again. '

I have no complaints on the graphics card, but the software is a complete mess considering the usability, and it can be really frustrating because you lose valuable time.
