Several issue's with Surround
So my new GTX 680 Lightning arrived yesterday. I am used to Eyefinity, so I have some issues:
When I activate Surround and restart my pc only the center monitor is active. In the control panel it says that Surround is activated, but that is clearly not the case. Basically Surround doesn’t stick.
UPDATE: without any apparent reason this problem no longer occurs. It’s nice to have one less problem though.
UPDATE2: I figured it out. Starting up my pc with monitors turned off results in only the center being active and starting up with monitors turned on results in Surround being activated.
I can no longer use win+p for switching between single(Computer Only), multi monitor(Duplicate). Have read in the past that this trick should work for both Eyefinity and Surround, so am confused.
UPDATE: just changing the resolution from 6000x1080 to 1920x1080 and back will do the same, but is not as fast as using win+p would be.
My three monitor are connected via 2x DVI and 1x Displayport. I would like to connect my tv as a fourth monitor. If all four screens are connected, the control panel wants to use my tv as one of the three monitors for Surround. If I disconnect my tv, Surround setups fine (although with the above issue). After connecting my tv when Surround is setup already, only the center monitor has a picture and without the taskbar showing. Is it even possible to run Surround+1 using my setup? If yes, how?
UPDATE: Nvidia has dedicated both DVI ports and the HDMI port as surround ports. The Displayport is labeled as an auxiliary port. My TV would be connected as an auxiliary display via DP for 3+1 to work. That is not a solution to my problem, since my TV has HDMI ports only and it needs HDMI for sound.
I have been using onboard video (HD3000) to connect my tv to my pc. This solution works, but onboard video kinda slow. Will have to do for the time being.

1st...thanks for posting the solutions to your problems, I hate it when people don't do that.
#3, yes, according to nVidia it should work....but I don't know how to fix your issue :-(

My third problem hasn’t been resolved yet. Based on this thread I figured more users have this problem. It seems so weird that Nvidia advertises this feature, but that people can’t get it to work.

Awesome Job nVidia! :nudgenudge
at least 50% of people who use 3+1 Setup do have an additional TV! And they sure would like HDMI Sound. (Edit: DP is Digital, and you can also output HDMI via DP right? So with a Passive Adapter (does the Surround still work then? ^^) can you output Sound via DP ?)
So.... wait... can you use 2x DVI +1x DP for a Surround Setup ?
We gonna send it to outa space!

Hmm, as it turns out you are right. There are adapters available that also transfer sound. Might pick one up and see if that solution works. Anyone with an GTX 6xx card have any experience with this?

Yes you can. Since I had an 7950 before my 680, this was the first thing I tried. This way both my consoles could remain connected to my center monitor.

What kind of TV is it?
I currently run a single GTX 680 with a setup just like yours, except I have none of those issues. I run the accessory display via hdmi to DVI, since mine doesn't have hdmi.
When I setup mine, I simply had the three monitors I wanted with surround plugged in, configured surround, turned it off and then plugged in the fourth monitor and enabled it after boot.
My Win+p seems to think the surround is the projector selection from the 4 choices I have, but I assume you already tried each one that was presented.
Is this the same computer you had an ATI card in? Wondering if it's old drivers or something causing issues.

I've been playing with GTX670
Never mind, the wrong thread opened. Weird.

Standard 1080p LG TV.

I just did the above, but when I re enable Surround it wants to use the monitor/tv that is connected to the HDMI port as one of the three... With" turned it off" you mean in control panel right?

I did indeed try all of them. "Computer only" and "projector only" do the same thing.

There is a change that this problem can be resolved by a clean windows install, but have done that 2 months ago. Have used both Atiman Uninstaller and Driver Fusion to sweep before installing forceware. Normally that should be enough.

Turn computer off, plug in only the 3 monitors you want for surround, turn on PC and enable/configure surround. Turn PC off, plug in fourth monitor, turn back on. Surround should still be configured and enabled at this point. Then you just go into NV control panel and enable the display under set up multiple displays.
At least, that is how it worked for me. I already had the surround setup with the three other monitors, and later added the accessory display to the mix without disabling the existing surround.

Just did the above. When I turn my computer back on Surround is broken and only displayed on two monitors. If I want to re enable Surround the control panel wants to use my tv again.

That's really bizarre.
I spent about an hour trying to get it to choose my 4th monitor to be part of surround, and I only got it to do that once, and that was through some strange glitch with the setup multiple displays option which caused it to basically drop into the existing surround setup....
I also just installed a second card, but couldn't seem to ever get the 1 2 3 configuration.

Tried this myself and was successful, but saw no performance difference since I don't run SLI. In control panel it was really confusing what was 1, 2, 3.
