i can't get eyefinity to work

as you may noticed on my profile discription i'm in use of an AMD ati Radeon HD 6670 card.

this card has an DVI - VGA and HDMI output.

i now have 3 monitors, 2 22inch and 1 19inch all three widescreen.

i have plugged them all in my videocard.

but when i go to resolution preference of windows it shows me 2 active monitors and 1 grey 'inactive'. which i can't enable. only disable so it totaly ignores it. it does see the monitor. when i open eyefinity in amd preference it also shows the same two monitors. they do work because i can shut one down and enable the other one. so that's no problem.. i don't see the point of having the possibility to use three monitors but can only enable two... doesn't make sense at all..

can someone help me out to let it work??

Correct?Now thats a hard

Correct?

Now thats a hard question.... i know that you CANNOT run 2x DVI +1x HDMI on a AMD Card. You need to use at least 1 Displayport connection for 3 monitors.
But i have no idea what they made on the 6670. Maybe the just took the DVI-I and linked it to the VGA slot.

Try contacting AMD support maybe they know more.

thank you for your response,

this card has an DVI - VGA and HDMI output.

This your problem, to attach a 3rd display, you need displayport.

This is not Microsoft's fault, it is the 6670 card which has hardware limitations.
You may find an older post of mine useful in explaining the situation.

i try to read your post

but it's stupid that it needs an display port when my card, which is compatible somehow with eyefinity because its included in the console, and it can't get away with HDMI DVi and VGA. gonna read your post now

Please beleive me, it will not work with that card with its current output connections.
You can only fix this by replacing the card for another that does have a displayport output, using an active displayport to vga/hdmi/dvi adaptor.

alright thank you, could you

Actually it doesn't really matter that you card can't run eyefinity physically, since it isn't powerful enough to run games at triple wide resolutions anyway. Can you tell us your budget for your new gpu?

well because i also need an

well because i also need an SSD drive and an 2TB HDD for data i can't really spend anymore then 150 for an GPU. cheaper is always better but if that's impossible then i guess i have to wait longer.

An AMD 7850 or above really,

An AMD 7850 or above really, if you could save for the nvidia gtx670 you would not be disapointed.

Not sure if you are planning

Not sure if you are planning on playing demanding games, but 150 bugs is not enough to bye a fast enough gpu. I would recommend 660 (Ti) and save money until you can afford one of those.

thank you very much, i will
