I have two 24" LCDs. If I can afford a third I will get one but know nothing about how to do it.
I assume I need a mb with dual PCI-E as this one only has one slot + the standard PCI?
I heard of the Matrox TripleHead2Go.
(edit: wow slow forum. Wrong forum? Not one new post in 4 hours as mine is still at the top and no replies)

Yeah, this forum is more a "Daily active" not a "hourly active".
So if you want to run Three Monitors from one Computer (one Graphics Card!) You need either and AMD Card or a new Nvidia (aka GTx660, 670 or better)
What Graphics Card do you have now ?

GTX460 only supports 2 Monitors!
If you want more you'd either have to
A: Buy another GTX360 and go SLI
B: Buy a new Card that supports 3 or more Monitors.

In another words buy a new motherboard + another card, or spend ~$320 on a TripleHead2Go.

Still seeking help...
I got a reply at Anandtech that:
Just grab a GTX 460 1GB it has 3 ports, 2 DVI and one HDMI. gl
which I already have an MSI GTX 460 Hawk
and
I think my HDMI-DVI adapter was 99 cents on ebay (Hong Kong free shipping), something like that could allow you to get more affordable cards that have HDMI as one of the outputs, then just use the adapter to convert that to DVI.
Is this viable or is it too much of a strain for a single 460 to use three monitors with EQ II, World of Tanks, Vanguard, Eve Online, maybe Planetside 2?
I have never heard of any1

What is your take on this one then?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 38566&SID=Ports
HDMI
1 x HDMI
DisplayPort
1 x DisplayPort
DVI
2 x DVI
I am still confused somewhat.
If you say I can run from one card with a 660 or higher, then that card still needs enough ports. I have seen only one card that has 3 dvi that was anywhere "affordable" while the rest were 900+!
Do you mean a 660+ working with a TripleHead2Go?
I am trying to work out the least expensive way: Matrox + card + a 3rd monitor (no way I can afford the stands with them being $200+ right now), or another mb + another card+ another monitor...or?

with a gtx670 (Not Sure about 660) you can Run 3 monitors native! without need for a matrox th2!
you just need the right active adapters for the connection of each Monitor

I was told elsewhere you don't need adapters.
2 dvi, 1 hdmi and all set.

Hi itpaladin1 and
Firstly i would suggest a look at the following article:
http://www.wsgf.org/article/red-vs-green-vs-blue-v2The article is helpful to get a better grasp of the different technologies that will allow you to achieve a Triple monitor rig.
Secondly I do have to agree with what Haldi said earlier...
To my knowlage one GTX460 card will not support Triple monitor setup, for this you would require a Second card in SLI.
I do not know if you need adapters with the nvidia card. Personly I have only been running AMD based Triple monitor rigs and so far and with the AMD cards one have been required to have adapters (at least for the reference models of the cards).
hope it helps and if you have any more questions i will do my best to answer what i can.

I registered here years ago but the mod that I told a year ago that I couldn't get access to my old email never replied back to help me get my original account back.
It has taken a month to get answers here. This is a very slow response forum for replies.
I have the two Asus' connected via the two DVI and the Asus via HDMI.
BTW this forum fails to "notify me" of posts.

The forum just switched from Drupal to phpbb so there are a few Bugs around.
So if you have them connected without Adapters, thast fine, IMHO 2xDVI +HDMI wokrs.
If the GTX660 behaves the same like a GTX670 in Surround then that should work. But i really don't know about the GTX660.... maybe some1 who has such a GPU can tell you more.
