Age of Empires 2 in WIDESCREEN, plz help??

Hello, i have the CD version of AoE2: The Conquerors.. and i was trying to get it to play in higher HD resolutions.
I found an old thread where somebody made a patch, but the thread is old i i couldnt get it to work.
Can anyone direct me to a thread or link to where i can find a patch to play AoE2 on WIDESCREEN?
