Hey VEGA, are those the 23" or 27" versions? If it's the 23", was it easy to stomach coming down from 27" to 23"?

What monitors are those? Those are some great this bezels.

Thanks guys. They are the 23" versions (Samsung S23A750D). The 27" versions would just be too big. 23" works out well for 1080P in 5x1. ;)

They are of course customized and de-bezeled.

YES VEGA - you have to tell us more! We are all dribbling! Also, was it easy to fit the stand on bezel stripped screens?

Finally got the video card for my 5x1P. Your setup is inspirational. I'd love to have mine look as clean as yours. Kudos. This thing must be amazing to game on.

Ugh, now I need a WSGF edition stand and I have to do a bezel strip. :( Bastard.

Vega - are you hiding the monitor bezels with other monitors?

I just wanted to say, nice setup vega. I was following that setup on OCN. I have thought about debezeling my monitors as well, just haven't got a stand told hold them all and wouldn't know what to do when I could only bring just 1 to a LAN party. :P

Hey, Vega. Does this work with HD3D?

I don't think any monitors in portrait support 3D due to the polarization change.

Sweet, Guild Wars 2 is working pretty awesome in 4-way crossfire 5x1! I should have a video up this weekend.

I have been following your build since page 1 on HardOCP, and I have been impressed with it every step of the twisty and turny way it has gone.

How would you say 3 of these screens are portrait? Do you feel it is "wide enough"? I guess this applies to 16:9 monitors 3x1P as a whole, not just this monitor. How would you feel about 16:10 screens if such a panel (120Hz) existed?

I must say your water cooling system is a good schooling for many that want to do super discrete "for looks" installs, that you don't get the best performance from stuff using flashing coolant and 90* bends everywhere. I look forward to seeing future developments, although it seems you are fairly happy with your setup now? :P Or am I wrong? :D

I think 16:10 panels are better suited for a 3x1 setup. 16:9 in 3x1 is a bit narrow.

My 5x1 setup is running really well with the 7970's and the latest AMD drivers so I should be keeping it for quite a while. Hopefully the 89xx series makes it even better!

Playing Without UI is always the best! And it feels like there is no UI, but you still see it cuz its neccessary!


4x 7970 :D What Resolution is that 5x1P ? i see ingame aroudn 60-100 FPS ^^ sometimes drops to 45.....35... CPU limit ? And it shows 87% GPU usage... Crossfire! Some games run on 99% and others just wont... ^^

Did you check out Powerdrain of the whole system ?

You think 3x1P with 16:10 panels would be do-able then? I was wondering how I could get this for as little cash as possible, would probably mean 3x U2412, I need at least 1 new screen.

Just a shame they don't do it without anti-glare. I hate that shit (and before people QQ, I cannot stand the U2211 anti-glare that the GF uses next to me).

Mad jealous, but 4x 7970? DANG! What would have happened to frames if you only had 2?

I think I paid $530 at launch for a 7970. At $400, thats a good deal!
