I have

1 Dell 24" 1920 X 1200 (widescreen)

2 Dell 20" 1600 X 1200 (3:4 aspect ratio)

I thought I could have the 24" wide screen in the center and the 3:4 monitors to the left and right of it since the ht resolution is 1200 on all three monitors and physical size too, they are about the same

I was hoping for 5120 x 1200

But the system forced the widescreen to 1600 X 1200 as well. So it became 3 X 1600 x 1200 (4800 x 1200) and the center monitor was stretched out.

Is there a way to do what I wanted to do? 5120 X 1200? I like it like this cause I won't have to deal with the fish eye persepective for the two side monitors. Basically the Video card need to send the 1600 X 1200 to the first monitor then send 1920 x 1200 to the center and then send 1600 x 1200 to the monitor on the right. Not just divide up the entire image into three equal parts.

SoftTH, check this out. This allows you to use any monitor configuration. The configuration tool is a godsend.

All you have to do is run the tool, set it up how you want it and then drop the .dll and the config file next to the .exe and run the game and set your resolution.
Only draw back to this is that currently it's only Dx9. So if you a game that only dx10 or higher, it wont work.

If you don't want to mess with that, if you're monitor has scaling, just change it to 4:3 and move the outside monitors in.

The last thing you can do is run 4800x1600, but recalculate the FOV in game for 5120x1200. This will make the game look correct, but requires the game allow you be able to manually input fov.

Yes Haldi. Nvidea card here

ITs because of FSX (DX9) I cannot go the ATI route.. ATI does not support DX9 clouds of FSX

I have only one need for my triple monitor. That is FSX which uses only DX9.

So let me try what you had suggested.

I thought of setting it up differently in FSX but its maximum resolution is what the hardware sets. It cannot go beyound that. Even if I did that may not help since it would still try to divide the total up and then split into three..only this time, the total would be larger. It still would not send different resolutions by each monitor. right?

PS. I notice that software (SofTH config tool) needs Win 7. I have win xp. But thats ok. I am looking for a solution for a PC I need to build with Ivy Bridge which would have win 7. Although I don;t have a win 7 currently.
