Skyrim and BF3 50+ FPS, what card?

Post by outspoken »

So I'd like to get multi-monitors setup and those are the two games I play.

I have 3 Samsung 205BW monitors that do 1680x1050 with DVI connections.

I like the idea of not needing adapters but realize DVI might be an outdated technology to use.

What card should I get to get solid playable framerates with these games and monitors?

I have an i5 2500k, G.Skill 8GB DDR3 1600, Corsair 520HX, Crucial M4 64GB, ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3

First, what is your budget?

Skyrim is very non-demanding in hardware. Heck in bezel-compensated 3x1680x1050 I could get framerates with high settings with my old HD6850.

$125-250 is what I was hoping to spend.

i think i may be asking too much of that budget, perhaps 30fps is enough. that's what i'm getting now, it bounces between 30-50 and i get by fine.
