4 displays - 3/Surround and 1/non-Surround - Is this possible?

If I add a second 580 to use in Surround mode with three displays, can I add a 4th display to run in non-surround mode at the same time?
Thanks,
Clutch
Yes it should work.

The only way I was able to do what you are suggesting is to add an additional graphic card to run the 4th. Depending on what you want to do with the 4th monitor, it doesn't have to be a powerful card.

I have 2 GTX560s and I use the two DVI inputs on the first card and 1st DVI input on the 2nd card for Surround. I recently upgraded to the GTX680 drivers and tried adding a fourth monitor onto the 2nd DVI on the 2nd card and it wont use it. I guess we may need to wait for the 500 series drivers specifically to use this functionality.

Ok I have downloaded and installed the 301.24 drivers for the 500 cards and the accessory monitor does not work with that either. Looks like you may need a GTX680 to do this.

hi,
first of im new to multi monitor gaming and from germany, so my english may not be the best.
i have 2 gtx 580,
3 1080p monitors and one old.
id like to use the 3 monitors in sorround, which works, and use the 4 in a 1 over 3 setup.
but that is not possible due to driver limitations?
would 2 680 do the job? (i dont think of upgrading though :P)
neither my motherboard, my case nor my wallet suits another graphics card =(
what are the chances that this kind of feature will be added to the 500 series?

I have 2 GTX 560Ti for 2DSurround and over USB an (HIS Multi-View II Adapter) for an 4. Monitor.
With the new 301.10 WHQL I can finally a Dashboard and 2DSurround use. :)
Sorry I must this correct. I have after 15 - 20 minutes a lot of crashes. I deinstalled the 301.10.
Try the 301.24 Beta drivers

Try the 301.24 Beta drivers which are designed for your cards instead and let us know how that works for you.

I tried this on my GTX560s and couldn't get the accessory monitor to work, but I think I may know why now. I'll try it again when I get home from work and report back for you.

Yeah, and it's all bad. I cannot get this to work. I have the surround monitors plugged into both DVI ports on the first card and 1 DVI port on the second. The 4th monitor I have tried on the second DVI connector on the second card, also tried HDMI on either card and no joy. Very frustrating. I posted on the Nvidia support forums asking if it's even possible.

It's not possible from my experiments either. GTX680 appears to be required for 3x1+1 setup.
could be possible with softh?

SoftTH introduces the need for extra GPUs, though, so you might as well just run Surround then an extra accessory display on another GPU and avoid the issues that SoftTH presents with modern games.

For FSX I am using 3x 3d projectors of a gtx 590 card and have an additional gt440 for the instruments.
This works fine in full screen or windowed mode but If I add a second monitor to the gt440 giving me 5 monitors in total and I try to load FSX I get all black screens with a bit of widows desktop poking through on the surround screens.. and I have to remove tht 5th monitor and reboot to get back to normal.. I also tried using a USB driven 7" touch screen monitor but I got the same effect.. Have not found a fix yet..Currently using the 296.?? driver..

The image is an example of waht I am trying to achieve, the 3x 3d monitors are GT750 projectors, off a gtx 590 card, adding the gt 440 card allowed me to get the main instruments panel up, and I use a 24" touch screen for that. This all works fine in FSX full screen and windowed mode.. But if I try to add the the monitors in red, for the radio stack and the GPS it all goes a bit pete tong..I was suprised the usb monitor gave me issues I thought that would have worked..
Maybe try a usb monitor,

USB monitors, as I found to my detriment, have their own issues - usually with SLI/CrossFire and/or other multiscreen implementations. Drove me nuts trying to figure out why a USB monitor wouldn't work...

Hey Ghetto, I am also setting up this for my flightsim cockpit. In your current setup - how were your FPS when you dragged your panels/gauges to that 4th display? Currently I am running my 4th off a 2nd PC networked which works good. But I wanted to try them all on the same PC with two 580's just to see the FPS impact. Guess I wouln't be able to. 2 680's are way overkill for this experiment plus way over $$ for FSX. ha!
