Through Dungeon (Internet) Crawling I've found some some interesting screens of what I thought was 12.1a but is not:

This show the ability to move the taskbar to be centered on any monitor.


This shows you FINALLY being able to choose custom Eyefinity resolutions. Hopefully I'll be able to run 3600x1920 or 5760x1200. It's been on my wish list for a while.

Unfortunately not.

found some info bout which Driver uses which CCC. so maybe 12.1a doesn't use CCC 12.1 but 11.12 instead ?

Edit: even the 2011.1208.1660.30301 CCC version which is in 12.1 Preview is shown as Catalyst version 11.11 under Software versions -.- but somehow Eyefinity is damaged! i have a Eyefinity group but cant edit any eyefinity settings, like bezel.

One would assume that placing the taskbar like that could be done with older EF cards, too..

Though i keep mine about 250 pixels wide, and at the far left...

Once we get a working grid and center taskbar I think I will find myself in eyefinity mode a lot more.
else I am in single screen or extended desktop mode all the time.

I hate how when I switch my profiles that my scaling options do not save, every single time I have to manually go turn back on aspect ratio scaling. I play games at 1920x1080 when I record videos since that is the aspect ratio youtube uses, also Starcraft 2 is designed on 16:9 any other resolution crops the amount of the game you can see. If I do not go fix that scaling it stretches to fit my 16:10 screen and that drives me freakin nuts.


If I ever come to somebodies house and they have SD 4:3 content stretched to fit on there 16:9 HDTV I just put a bullet in there head and then fix the scaling on the TV so they can rest in peace.

and it already has "set preferred display" just not working for TaskBar.

Eyefinity 2.0 is in this CCC! If you don't want instable/insecure drivers just install CCC and no screen drivers!

DON'T Try it out!

8.950 drivers doen't work well! And 8.94 are bugged!

i overinstalled whole package! Caused heavy lag. 3minutes for windows logon! Then tried to uninstall DisplayDriver only. But couldn't reinstall old Display Driver becaus windows already had 8.920 installed (and not working -.- )
Then somewhere in the internet found 8.921 driver which made it to work again. But now Eyefinity 2.0 features are gone. and can't install the CCC from this 12.x package because that with the 8.921 driver is a newer version of 11.12!

So if you plan on playing some games in the near future.... don't tamper around with unoficial Beta drivers ^^

It might Work when you instal CCC ONLY without anything other... but no guarantee!

Try it if you think it might be worth the risk ;)

Thats not changed in Eyefinity 2.0 ! At least not in that Beta driver i tested! I had Centered Task Bar, but windows still maximize over whole screen! though didn't try with Flash player...

Thanks for the reply Haldi. I couldnt find where it was mentioned but thats a real bummer. If I cant maximize the window to just one monitor then I might have to stick to my Clark Kent profile on my pc :tired:

Well. I tried the 8.94 drivers, and i still don't have 5760x1200 or 3600x1920 (I would be fine with either). Le Sigh.

okay... uninstall CCC in ATI Install manager. Install 8.95xxx but ONLY CCC! and then you're fine.
