Saint's Row just tweeted and blogged this photo.

with the caption "We told you this wasn't a port."

Any dev that goes the extra mile to center the HUD officially gets points in my book.

Thanks for posting

I would say you could +1 on the news item on the home page. However, we took off the +1 link. It had a huge performance hit loading the +1 entries for each news item on the home page. Facebook and Twitter didn't have the same issues, so I'm not sure what the issue was on the G side.

Ah - the 'align by using thick books' method. I used that for a while.

Proper HUD placement, even? Holy shit. I quite enjoy the ridiculousness of those games, but playing SR2 on the PC is a horrid experience. If they do #3 for PC properly, I'm going to mess my panties.

thanker fer der infer, STALKER.

Well let's hope that;s just for the console version. Having proper multi-monitor width while having vert- on single screen would be pretty weird.

Last night i warched a long video of some idiot doing a gameplay/interview stint with a guy from Volition Software. HE started that they're "giving a lot of attention" to teh PC version. OF course, we should;t really expect anything until we actually have a release.

Yes, the demo i tested in for pc, menus are "playable" at multi-monitor resolutions but are clearly Vert-.

"As many of our PC fans are probably aware, the Saints Row 2 port on PC could've been a lot better," said the studio. "Saints Row: The Third on PC is not a port, and it's our goal here at Volition to prove that to our PC fans ... Highlights include AMD Eyefinity support, DX9, DX10, and DX11 support, Crossfire enabled, SLI enabled, advanced depth of field, reflections, and ambient occlusion quality, and, of course, God Rays."

The game is being developed in-house by Volition rather than handled by an exterior firm. Volition says it will "be at the same level of playability as the console versions."

It's sad that something like this has to be noteworthy news. When you spend upwards of a fifty bucks on a game, it should work correctly no matter what system it's on. It's definitely awesome that Volition is putting in serious effort with the PC version, but it's crazy that we live in a world where such a thing is commendable

Looks like Saints Row 3 is Hor+ out of the box. Centered HUD and menus at 6048x1080. Standard, wide screen, and triple-wide resolutions selectable from the in-game menu. This is how eyefinity should be done!

^ Either of you two using AMD cards? I've been reading that AMD GPUs suffer from performance issues. It's making me hold off on getting it.

But I also read that teh PC version is quote excellent, otherwise.

Nvidia surround here, game runs smooth, this game is FUN, great GFX, its not a cheap port, far from that.

It was unplayable when I started up w/ crossfire and all high display settings at 6048x1080 but I dropped the Ambient Occlusion and Shadows to Medium and disabled crossfire and it's running smooth as silk. I'll have to play with those settings a little to find out which ones can be cranked back up.
