Try this...
Goto "my documents/nfs shift" look for graphicsconfig.xml, make a backup of it then delete it, try running the game again.

I have it working perfectly well on my rig which is Win7 64bit @ 5760x1080.

What version are you running?
Is it a steam based game?

This is the contents of my graphicsconfig.xml file.

Code: Select all

Yes its a team based game,i did have cd version about 7 months ago---it ran once in eyefinity, then started getting these errors.
Now i purchased on steam.

Do you have to configure the SHIFT.exe? if so what settings in compatability.

I want to run in 5760,but it wont even run in 1920 (1 monitor)

I turned all settings to LOW in game as well

Been on net for hours now but still to no avail

No compatability settings on shift.exe
In steam, try the verify files .
To do this goto the steam game libaray, right click shift and click properties, goto local files and click verify.

I noticed that at home I also have the overhaul mod installed which although I did not require it to be able to run the game, it does fix a number of bugs that could help you get the game running.
More info about the mod here http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=31366
Many, many, many bugs have been fixed - every bugfix from Unofficial Community Patch 1.05 and several more. It turns out, Shift is actually a much better game once you get rid of a bunch of low level data bugs! :)

Worth a shot I guess.

As a last resort - have you tried uninstalling it completely and downloading it again?

I've had a few issues over the years with Steam games that wouldn't start properly or crash immediately (Juiced and Saint's Row 2 come to mind).

After redownloading them they worked normally. I can't think of any case where I've never gotten a steam gae to run.

I have Win7 and Shift worked from the getgo for me in eyefinity, no issues.

As a last resort il try it soon

I got a feeling its to do with ATI cards, still at it after 9 hrs :(

I all over the forums but no luck yet.

Most games work fine outta the box but this one has stumped me

Its annoying as shit to----in order to test every method i gotta go through the intro video and it takes ages.

Post by Delphium »

I play mine in ATI eyefinity, so its certainly not an ATI card issue.
As i said, using drivers 11.6, although the game has worked for me without error via steam since i downloaded it on day 1, from as early as the 10.6 ati drivers.

Again, what driverts are you running?
Have you tried to verify the contents
and have you tried the overhaul mode?

if yes to all, then sadly can only suggest you totaly remove it and any left overs in the "my documents / nfs shift folder" (making a backup of your profile of cause) then redownload it.
