Resident Evil 5 in 2d surround

Post by sir biscuit »

Anybody get it to work in surround ? Been trying for months, went from 2 to 3 cards, different drivers w/same results. If I use haydens patch it corrects menus & "some" gameplay (w/o cutscenes). As soon as a cutscene comes all heck breaks loose ! Flashing screens, sound cutting on & off then no video. Sometimes I can get by the cutscene but then the video looks corrupted (water & torches flashing). Woul really like to play in surround.

According to this report

According to this report http://widescreengamingforum.com/dr/resident-evil-5 the game should run in surround no problem, with the addtion of the "flawless widescreen" tool to fix the hud.
Have you checked this report?

Unfortunately I dont know why this may cause flickering for you.

Ok,here's an update. For grins I went back in config & changed sli to on-is set off & then turned shadows back to high w/same results. Then out of sheer fustration I turned vsync back off & cranked aa to the max & glory bee it now works ! Don't know why but it apparantly needed all the eye candy on ! I did back the aa down one notch 'cause the water looked like crap. Now maybe I can play the whole thing in surround.

The game itself runs fine

Post by sir biscuit »

The game itself runs fine except when you go into water for treasures-lines form across screen in the water, not a biggie. The only other issue is when you have an interactive cut scene, like when your dodging the motorcycles. You cannot see which keys to press to dodge. Still has a fov issue there. But the game looks amazing in surround !
