How to connect 3 DP Monitors

I currently have a Dell U2711 monitor connected to 2 MSI 6950's in crossfire via Displayport. I'm thinking about getting two more for 3 monitor gaming. My question is regarding how to hook them up. If I want to use DP I can use the two mini-DP ports on the first card; can I use a DP port from the second card for the third monitor? Or do all three monitors have to be connected to the same card? Please advise. Thanks!

You must use one card. I'm pretty sure you can use 2 of the mini-DP ports and a couple DP-miniDP adapters.cables, or you can use the DVI port(s) on the monitor and video card.

I use DVI-DP-DVI on my Eyefinity setup and i see no input lag, if that's your concern

That's what I thought; thanks for confirming. I will use a DL-DVI cable for the third monitor and DP for the other two.

I can confirm that I've using a 10ft Minidp to DP and a miniDP to DVI.
