5870 lightning (Edit: running 8.723 drivers/Cat 9*latest on msi's website)
win 7 64
Connectivity to the monitor is with a DP cable through the DP port on both the GPU and monitor's end.
Dear eyefinity guru's,
I would be most grateful if you can solve this problem for me. I'll try to keep this short, hope it goes easy on your eyes.
So i keep getting random blackouts on my monitor, cpu is running and the only way to get back my screen is to unplug the DP cable on the GPU end and plug it back in.
This is the message when I recover the signal :-
"The system has detected a link failure and cannot set the requested resolution and refresh rate on your DisplayPort. Your display might not support the request resolution or there may be an issue with the cable connecting the display to your computer"
I'm hoping this has nothing to do with having to update my BIOS where my current one is not sending enough power to maintain signal to my monitor(mostly having to do with DP->dvi/vga adapters, like i have read here.
THanks in Advance
