Brief History of PC Gaming (my version)

Some of you have probably seen a version of this list, documenting the past 20 years of games. There were some pretty big omissions, some mistakes (especially for the year 2010), and the entire 80's is left out.

So here's my improved version. It puts in the major omissions, fixes the mistakes, and documents 30 years instead of 20.

Brilliant to see Oni and Emperor: Battle for Dune in there; they were two heavily underrated games IMO. Emperor was amazing and Oni was the first game I played that mixed martial arts and guns in a way that actually worked in a balanced fashion. An interesting (if somewhat cliche) story made me play that through multiple times.

Some amazing games in there.

The nail-on-the-coffin game Tribes: Vengeance is also missing, along with TRIBES 2. But oh well. I'm happy you included TRIBES in there.

I must have missed One Must Fall. I like that. I know I spotted Oni. Amusing how Oni is developed by Bungie compared to how Bungie is now known for.

That list brings back some memories... wow, nicely done. Includes plenty of titles I've had throughout my gaming career. Although of course I'd opt for the entire X-series to be there, at least you got Terran Conflict :P

Oni I have as well. Awesome game. I just loved the throw move from behind (instant kill as well). Unfortunately, it stopped working when I upgraded to Windows XP. One of the few games with compatibility issues...

And One Must Fall, oh how many times must I have played that. I'm one of the few people who got the sequel: Battlegrounds. Hmmm... seems http://www.omf.com is out of the air now. Pity BG was such a failure, the concept was great. And the game would've been great if there was any decent number of players. For those who don't know by now: the original OMF has been freeware for quite some time now.

Tie Fighter, Zak McCracken... such great classics.

But wait a minute... I can't believe you missed out on:

Elite
Elite 2: Frontier
Frontier: First Encounters
Elite 4
