Hello,

Not really a gaming related question since my rid is used primarily for my home office setup, but I do game from time to time.. I'm looking for a video card that will support 3 displays. preferably 2 of which must be DVI. Third can be either HDMI, DVI, or VGA as it is going in to a TV. Purchased a PNY GeForce GTS 450 last night and found that it can only handle 2 simultaneous displays, despite having 2 DVI and 1 HDMI port.

Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Any AMD 5000 or 6000 series card, and a DisplayPort-to-VGA adaptor. Doesn't sound like you're after EyeFinity, so that's not a bother. :)

If you are mostly doing desktop work, you don't need multiple cards to run multiple displays. If you are running games across 3 monitors you will need a multiple cards (and power supply), especially if you go the 30" route. But since you said you are primarily doing desktop work and will only be gaming "some", I would suggest you just go with a 5870 and call it a day. If you feel the pressing need to game on three monitors you can always add in another 5870.
