This 37 inch displays have a bezel of just 1.5mm on the left and right side and 2.5mm on the top and bottom.

Nice improvement. Now how about no bezel at all? That's where things get really interesting.

I don't really think that'll ever be a real possibility even with oled. Because you generally have to "seal off" the screen.

Best that might be possible is a glass bezel which bends the outer few pixels a little so it "appears" to be seamless, with a little distortion.

Hm, maybe I should write that idea up and patent it.

Well without R&D, you won't make any money.

Doesn't stop the other patent trolls, does it?

You know, I want to think of a large number of random patents based on games or features in games that already exist, then apply for all of them, and issue free licenses on any of the ones I get to stop greedy *insert expletive here* trying to cash in on other peoples ideas, or on common ideas that have been freely used for years.

Isn't that the truth skid. Common ideas like a "Multipoint touch screen" are patented by apple and used to troll other companies for tons of money. Patent law can be kind of messed up at times.

At times?

Patent law was originally designed to protect individuals from being exploited by large companies. Look how that has changed. ;)

Speaking of thin bezel displays, today in the office for the 360 Kinect launch we have a video wall setup using displays from Orion using the OPM-4250R which are 42" plasama screens giving off a very nice clear picture with also a 4mm gap.

This displays we have on loan today are encased in a metal bezel as they are the dmeo screens so they have been protected, however the normal screens are without this and have a flush glass edge to but up to the next pannel.

The screens use DVI and daisy chain off of each other with each screen given a monitor ID so that every screen is sent a full 1080p image form the xbox sourced from the hdmi output, where then each screen has a built in scaler to stretch a part of the input.
