I'll wait till NVidia officially release it on their web site before I get it, thanks anyway.

And the award for unnecessary post goes to: Skid!

And yeah, I realize I now qualify for second place :)

Well, I tried them out (because I'm a bad man, living on the edge). No improvements with dual 295s. Caused some serious issues in StarCraft 2 (nonstop flashing ground textures, nearly seizure inducing!).. I hope they don't take too long to "officially" support my configuration..

But.. the new driver installer looks cool. :rockout

no good

Merged in. :)

I've not tried this. I've decided that my Surround setup is working fine, I don't intend to fiddle until something comes along that has issues with the 258.96 driver, or I move to watercooling on the GPUs and reinstall on an SSD at the same time.

I was just reading on another forum last night that 260 was posted but then taken down. The guy went on to saying how he was getting +20 fps in Bad Company 2. That seemed like an unbelievable amount.

I am in agreement...I have played surround mode Borderlands + Zombie DLC + Knoxx DLC start to finish with not one crash...it ain't broke so I ain't fixin' it...(addictive game!)

HardOCP have compared this driver (with GTX 460 1GB SLI) to the 10.8 cats with the application profile (with HD 5850 crossfire)

http://www.hardocp.com/article/2010/09/13/nv_gtx_460_1gb_sli_vs_ati_hd_5850_cfx_redux

Seems the 5850 has great improvements.

yep... my system has been so stable until a driver comes along that has confirmed significant performance gains in surround mode or adds new useful features I am sticking with 258.96.

Using MSI and in game gameplay, these are my performance gains. For me it was a huge difference. Lcd readout TEMP--GPU USAGE--FAN SPEED.

2- 480's in sli, no overclocking, on 258.96, in BC2.

Exact same setup, same in game settings, on 260.62.

your first two images don't show FPS.. did you mean you were at 63 FPS and jumped up over 10 FPS more with the new drivers? Do you see improvements like this in all games?

Naw, actually I didn't know what my fps was before the update. I didn't scroll all the way down in the MSI settings, noticing that I could also monitor my fps, until just about a week ago.

The middle number is what I'm referring to, my gpu usage. The 258 drivers were really taxing my cards and 260 just about cut it in half.

Whether that is a good thing or not depends on whether it's had an effect on framerate. ;)

If the 260 drivers can cut GPU utilisation (and therefore heat) on my GTX460s, I'll be happy... but not at the expense of framerate - I'm dancing on a thin line for playability in some games at 6064x1200 already... ;)
