Viewsonic VG2728wm / options ?

Hey guys :)
I've been checking out pretty much every LCD display for the last week and i'd like to get opinions from owners (or people who have seen this display):
http://www.viewsonic.com/products/desktop-monitors/lcd/graphic-series/vg2728wm.htm
27" is rather large for 1920x1080 and i'm wondering everything is still sharp. I'll be using this monitor for gaming and video editing.
Things I look for in monitors:
- Great pic quality is paramount.
- VESA compatible (i use ergotron's desk mount)
- < 600$ (Lacie & NEC are out)
Optionally - I've been looking at these:
Dell U2410

Viewsonic VX2450wm-LED
http://www.viewsonic.com/products/desktop-monitors/lcd/led-lcd/vx2450wmled.htm
Samsung 2494SW
http://www.samsung.com/ca/consumer/office/monitors/lcd/LS24KIZKFV/ZA/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail
Any and all comments and suggestions will be welcome! :)
Thanks,
N
