G'day all,
great site ... trolled through here for days ... trying to get my head around all the issues with eyefinity ... and wide screen gaming before
taking the plunge .... but thanks to all the info available here ... it worked like a dream straight out of the box
My biggest fear was which adaptor ... I decided to go with a sapphire DP-VGA {no USB} version ... teamed up with 3 x 24" 1920 x 1080 BenQ monitors and an ATI 5870 {5970 on order} and the 10.2 drivers .... was reluctant ... but I through in a restore point and went to the 10.6 drivers ... still ran perfect ... have not had an issue at all ... ahhh ... nirvana at last.
What was also surprising was the amount unvalidated games that are happy running at 5760 x 1080 without issues i.e. ISI's rFactor released in 2005 ... hud is on the middle screen etc and a great frame rate with only a single 5870 .... cant wait till the 5970 rocks up ... I looked at going for the new Shappire 4gb OC toxic version ... but they like to gouge our eyes out downunder {it's so bad that guy behind the counter is the one that wears the stocking } and with a price of $1455 ... I'll pass thankyou.
Well I've waffled on long enough ...
