Eyefinity + Crossfire + Vsync

Post by rebelstar »

Today bought second 5850 and I don't see any way to turn VSync ON. Even forced vsync doesn't work. Tried Batman, BFBC2, Mirror's Edge. Is there any way to turn it on? On a single 5850 I had run BFBC2 more smoothly and playable than on 5850 crossfire! I'm feeling like I just wasted $300 for nothing! Have no fun with crossfire at all. Also I'm receiving some kind of image jittering, even if fps is 70. I mean no smooth and nice picture as I had on a single 5850.
Guys please help, I'm lost.

What version drivers are you using as 10.5 broke vsync in most of my games, but it worked ok in 10.2 to 10.4 And i also use d3doverrider from rivatuner tools to force vsync on.

Crossfire and eyefinity is still a work in progress, bc2 dosent scale to well and lots of people report that it is choppier with crossfire enabled, including myself.
but it does scale well in most of my source games and l4d2.

Oh.. For this moment I'm playing BC2 only, that's why I need Vsync enabled and some smooth gameplay.
Using 10.5 drivers.

I'll try d3doverrider

Thanks.

10.6 released and no Vsync fix for crossfire+eyefinity. It's still 120 frames instead of 60.
Guys, do you know if GTX470 SLI working fine with multi-monitor solutions, i.e. vsync issue?

I'm really tired of that. Still no proper bezel management and no vsync fix. And no reply from AMD support for 5 months for these 2 issues.

No one knows. I'm also about to decide between 5870CF and GTX470 SLI. Unfortunately nvidia delayed its multimonitor solution called nvidia surround til end of june. :(

So amd really cant figure the 120 fps cap on 3 monitors..? really? Does everyone running crossfire in eyefinity fps cap at 120? Or just some of us? I am getting close to the docks.. I am looking at the other ship in disgust but contemplating...

to answer your question, i was using ati and swapped to dual 480's. bad company 2 is now so much better, vsync is locked at 60 now with everything maxed out at 6081x1200 and is silky smooth, where i would have to run at low with the 5870 or the 5970 and still wasnt as smooth as nvidia.

so i would say dual 470's would still be worth it

Did you try RadeonPRO with Eyefinity? I'm curious to see if it works with Eyefinity. :)
